MINOR SETBACK FOR ERRADICATION PROGRAMME

After 18 months without a new infection, 3 people have contracted guinea worms.  Sudan has been attempting an eradication programme, along with the rest of Africa, of the debilitating, but non-fatal, parasite.  Jimmy Carter has been promoting this Africa-wide erradication programme, which is brilliantly successful and almost complete.

The whole article on the setback is to be found here:  https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/0/guinea-worm-outbreak-dashes-hopes-elimination-south-sudan/
Absence of proof is not proof of absence.
