At this moment at Brussels Airport 17 people killed, at a metrostation 10 people killed. But at least at 4 metrostations there were explosions. (In the chaos in Belgium the numbers may be incorrect. At Brussels Airport there were 1 or 2 explosions-the official number of people killed now is 11. At least at one metrostation in Brussels there was a bombattack. First Brussels than Belgium is under "lock-down" (meaning stay-in-place). Public transport and the telephone network in Belgium is under pressure. Communications (also for aid-workers) is difficult.

So far it seems there were three explosions. Two (one suicide) at Brussels airport and one in a metro-train in the EU-area of Brussels. The number of people killed is believed now to be 13 at the airport and 15 in the metro. In countries in Europe more control is put into action at borders, railway stations etc. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-03-22/dozens-killed-and-injured-after-massive-bomb-explosions-rip-through-belgium-airport- According to some reports IS claimed responsibility, according to others IS only "praised" these attacks. Brussels Airport Zaventem is not far from NATO-HQ.

A lot of police searches are going on in Brussels. Strict bordercontrol is causing trafficjams at several Belgian bordercrossings. The Brussels Airport, several universities, cinema's, shopping malls remain closed-proberbly also tomorrow.
Since also the (old) Tihange nuclear plant seems to be observed by possible terrorists extra security. https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/1065 Another problem could be reaction of right-wing groups blaming all muslims for these IS attacks. (IS has taken responsibility, although there also different stories http://www.veteranstoday.com/2016/03/22/322/).

Of the three suspects in the picture only the man in the white coat is believed to be alive. The other two men blew themselves up. The attack was meant to be larger. A taxi-driver who picked up the three man has told that they had 5 suitcases-they could take three of those suitcases in the (small) taxi.
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-03-22/nail-bomb-chemicals-isis-flag-found-manhunt-underway-brussels-bombing-suspect ZH has the story that these three men were part of the same (Brussels based IS) group that was behind the november-Paris attacks. I can imagine that also is being investigated were these men came from, how they got there explosives. Who will benefit-and how-from these attacks. (Turkey ? Gulf States ?)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3502002/Dramatic-footage-airstrike-ISIS-stronghold-Mosul-reportedly-kills-25-civilians-dozens-ISIS-fighters.html The US-led coalition did strike against Mosul just previously before the Brussels attacks.
Mosul is believed to be the financial (oil trade, Gulf State donations), communications (via Turkey satelite connections all over the world-most likely the command for the Paris and Brussels attacks came from Mosul) and intelligence center. It is protected against Kurdish fighters by a Turkish army unit in Iraq. In Belgium itself Belgian, French and other "groups" (police, intelligence, informers etc.) may be succesfull in their search for IS-cells. (Although Germany may be having hundreds of IS fighters-more than any other western nation). That succes may have hastened the Brussels attacks. (The arrest of Salah Abdeslam, he was only a minor figure in IS, means a network of "safe-houses"has become unsafe for IS-terrorists). Seymour Hersh http://www.lrb.co.uk/v38/n01/seymour-m-hersh/military-to-military pointed out that in the US military and CIA may be in conflict with each other. A goal for these Brussels attacks may be to get Europe behind the US in foreign policy. IS is funded by donations from wahabist/salafist fanatics and "friends of the west" in the Gulf States and Pakistan, Turkey. Also oil-trade-now mostly from northern Iraq via Kurdish traders towards Turkey, bought by Israel and western oil companies is financing IS. Russia, Iran and Assad are the biggest threats for IS. The west still is playing a double game for oil-interests and against Russia and China. The IS-fighters partly go back to the Saddam Hoessein Iraqi-army, partly consists of foreign fighters from Europe, Russia, China-most of these countries are cynical and wanted to get rid of young unemployed muslim men-it did not work out the way they expected. (IS fighters were supposed to buy a one-way ticket to paradise in Syria, Iraq etc, but they lasted longer.) Also special forces (Israel, Turkey, Qatar, KSA, US, etc. may play some role in some IS operations.) There will be more IS-terrorist attacks. In Germany some attemps were made but failed. Russia has an active intelligence network against Islamic fighters-faces problems in Dagastan, Chechnia etc. Also China is dealing with Islamic fighters inside their borders in western China. IS fighters show up in Ukraine, Libya, Afghanistan-suggesting a "network" is behind them providing transport and communications. The IS-leader now might be in IS-held region of Libya, after getting wounded by a US attack in Syria/Raqqa and medical aid in Turkey to safe his life. One of the reasons Israel is not attacked by IS is that also in northern Israel a hospital is caring for IS fighters.
