What prompted this thread was a fox article released an hour ago.
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/02/16/exclusive-china-sends-suface-to-air-missiles-to-contested-island-in-provocative-move.html

How provocative or chilling is this?

http://www.indiatvnews.com/news/world/china-unveils-advanced-surface-to-air-missile-defence-system--18900.html?ref=veng

Is this the same system? We know that China has built their own islands and brought in nuclear capabilities, aircraft carriers and destroyers. They have been playing cat and mouse there for years as China simply wants to claim the area.  Having our warships or planes edge the airspace is not a demonstration of might or claim to an area which should be international waters. There is no "exclusive story" to the fact they are on the verge world war in Syria.

It would be much more concerning to report they are sending the same missile system to Iran and it has been requested.

Yes, they are rubbing elbows in the China Sea, but they are wading through bodies in Syria. Collateral damage.
