If you have pets you should DEFINITELY get some boric acid used to kill roaches for fleas it works great and it is cheap if you go to home depot etc instead of the vet's office to get it. Instructions to kill flea LARVAE in your carpet. Sprinkle all over the carpet like carpet freshener. Scrub it in with a broom or a scrub brush on a broom handle wait as long as you can possibly stand to vacuum ie a week or more is optimum. Be prepared for the fleas to get worse during this period because the way boric acid works it dehydrates the larvae to death and any that have pupated will start hatching like crazy to escape death by dehydration!!!!! You can use your favorite can of flea spray to knock those down but do not go overboard because wetness inactivates the boric acid. Once you have broke the flea cycle treating your pets themselves with pesticides will be minimal because any flea eggs they drop in the carpet will not hatch and the only reason to need to dip/spray them alot would be if they go outside and you have a heavy flea infestation in your yard. Boric acid will not work outside because it is inactivated by water.

Have not seen powdered eggs but I did find scrambled eggs in the freezer section by the breakfast foods. If you have an HEB in your town they carry powdered egg whites and also some kind of powdered scrambles on the baking isle.

Does HEB have a website? I'm looking for the least expensive but "best tasting" type of foods. Not in huge barrels...I prefer smaller cans. Thank you again for your help. I sure do appreciate it.

raptureready, how long ago did you order?? Just curious. I'm trying to think if anyone locally would have powdered eggs. If Wal-Mart doesn't I wonder who would. The only other stores we have is Giant Eagle grocery store. I haven't asked if they carried but they are a small store here and don't have much of anything.

I ordered products from honeyville grains too and received them fairly fast in perfect condition. It was my first order from them.
I've placed orders with several other companies too and some shipped fast, some were slow to ship. Another source for powdered eggs is http://www.barryfarm.com/milk.htm I've ordered things from them for a long time. They accept PayPal and ship very fast. The only drawback is that things come in bags, not cans and need to be repackaged for long term storage. |

It has been 1 1/2 weeks and my check hasen't even cleard the bank..but the rep. told me it was shipped???? Don't see how. I have many items I want to order from them, I am just waiting to see how first one goes first. As soon as I get it, I will post. I used them because of everyones recommendations here. I also am in a fairly small area, not many "survival stores" around here. There are "Army-Navy" but way to expensive.

Preps today:
25 lbs hamburger(made hamburgers/meatballs and froze)
10 bottles shampoo(on sale for 79c)
Napkins
Coffee
Pop
Mac-cheese
8 lbs butter
4 lbs cheese
I also found tampons on clearance for 2.99ea. I bought all ten boxes(The checkout guy just looked at me funny)
I also found bath soap on clearance for 99 cents/3pk. Bought all 9 pkgs.
It really pays to look in the clearance isle/cart. You wouuld be surprised what you can find. There is a use for everything.
On to Lowes and Wal-Mart.......ugh......I have to stop reading everyones posts...my list never gets shorter

I haven't been able to find powdered eggs as in whole eggs. But did find powdered egg whites at Kroger in the baking section. Small white round cardboard type package holding the equivalent of 52 eggs for around $8.00. I bought two, but no more. Costs too much!

I just ordered and put my items in the shopping cart from Honeyville. I need to wait to actually pay for it to have it sent out until next week. Do you know if it will sit there in the shopping cart or does it get deleted if I log off? I think their prices are not too bad. I'm happy you mentioned it.
