Ditto!

Over the past many years I have been building specialized kits for various types of hazards, and I keep finding that the same things keep going into just about every kit, regardless of what they are for:

Zip-Lock bags, garbage bags, tape, twine, plastic sheeting, disposable wipes, clean rags, respirator masks, Germ-X hand sanitizer, vitamins, etc. (food and water have always been high on the list, too)

The trick about basic materials is, of course, knowing how to make what you need from them. For people with no imagination or handyman skills, I guess the answer is to lease a warehouse, and fill it with finished products of all kinds.

How big of a warehouse would you need in order to fit all the stuff from a Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Grocery store, camping store, etc?

At some point I plan to rent a storage shed on a main highway about 5-10 miles from my house with some supplies and a little money.  What if we leave home for any reason and can't return for a few days and can't get to a relative or friend.  i almost had that expierence a couple of weeks ago.  I live in a semi rural area.  After buying prep supplies i started home but my street was blocked off due to a forrest fire.  So that got me thinking.   We had to wait seven hours before we returned home.  What if it was 7 days and all the hotels were filled, and stores we closed.  just a thought.  Every one in my family would know how to get to this place and meet there if for some reason we can't get home.

I also have the storage unit, which holds many various kits too voluminous for the garage. I have a special kit in the car, which just looks a large duffle bag, but boy is it action packed !!! If I needed to I could live out of the car for a week, or if needed, camp out at work.

Richie Rich  What type of items do you keep stored in your car?  I am thinking of getting a storage shed away from the house.  So if for some reason I might not be able to return to my home to get supplies in case of any kind of emergency.  Please give me some idea of what to keep in there besides the basic food water, blankets medicine, and cash.
