Never say never - isn't that from a James Bond film? Isn't that one of the many Barack Obama promises? Well think again. Record numbers of recruits are coming not from the Middle East, not from North Africa - but from America and the most recent defection was from Virginia. Why is this happening? Why are our youth and others becoming traitors and going to fight, shoot, and kill our own soldiers?  What is wrong with the is picture?

Point one: They are losing. Despite being told from day one as city after city fell, that it wasn't that much of a problem, it is.  Isis, perhaps made in the U.S.A., has gone rogue and is no longer an effective proxy in the war to topple Assad in Syria.

Point two: This whole situation - the foreign policy in the Middle East as well as bombing the hell out of city after city without handling the real forces underground is failing.

Point three: No one wants a Middle East Vietnam. Russia removed their boots and planes as the mire in Syria became so deep it was clear it was hitting bottom.

Point four: You aren't going to take out Isis with drones and Delta Force raids. Not with U.S. citizens going to fight beside them. Why is the propaganda working. Why are some people so disillusioned with the leadership and life in the U.S. they are abandoned their countries. Not only in the U.S., but in Europe as well - and - converted -armed  - and ready to do more damage - returning - to "home" to bring Isis with them?

Bombs in Iraq have not worked. Even drones may take out some. There was wisdom in the promises not to send troops in. It will be a real bad idea to try and fight people in 140 degree heat in hazmat stytle gear while the others run around in robes oblivious to the heat.

No easy answers... but...

March 20, 2016 - not exclusive to Fox - the real news...

Washington has sent a detachment of US Marines to Iraq to bolster the fight against the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terror group. The Marines will reinforce US forces already there.

A group of Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, or MEU, will be deployed on the ground, the US military said on Sunday, according to Reuters.

It isn’t immediately clear how many personnel have been sent and to where.

The 26th MEU is one of seven Marine Expeditionary Units currently in the United States Marine Corps, according to the corps’ official website. The MEU is a 2,200-strong Marine air-ground task force.

In January, US Defense Secretary Ash Carter reiterated Washington’s plans to increase its military presence in the anti-IS campaign in Iraq.

We’re looking for opportunities to do more, and there will be boots on the ground — I want to be clear about that,” Carter said at the time.
