I agree, ventilators are pretty extreme. The Brits are finding that CPAP machines may suffice, avoiding damage to the trachea from intubation etc. "Reports from Italy indicate that approximately 50% of patients given CPAP have avoided the need for invasive mechanical ventilation, reducing the demand on intensive care staff and beds." |

Thanks CRS. It makes me feel better about Cuomo's briefing yesterday where they're utilizing BiPaps. Here's hoping they're saving ventilators for the more serious cases here in NY |
