I hope this information is false. I have not seen any further proof of this being real. But coming hours may confirm this news if there is any truth in it.

https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/587 Turkey has begun a defacto blockade of Russian naval vessels,  preventing transit through the Dardanelles and the Strait of Bosporus, between the Black Sea and Mediterranean.

According to the AIS tracking system for the movement of maritime vessels, only Turkish vessels are moving along the Bosphorus, and in the Dardanelles there is no movement of any shipping at all.

At the same time, both from the Black Sea, and from the Mediterranean Sea, there is a small cluster of ships under the Russian flag, just sitting and waiting. The image below shows the situation with the ships using the GPS transponder onboard each vessel:

https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/586 n a move that spells doom for U.S.-backed rebels trying to depose Syrian President Bashar Assad, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered 150,000 Russian Troops to Syria; to put down all Terrorist groups and put an end to the Civil War in that country.

(The above story is from november 14-makes me question if it is real)

https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/583 Turkey has fired missiles at the Syrian Army, from inside Turkey.  Also massing troops (55,000) and tanks (300). Intel sources say an "incursion" is imminent; WAR LIKELY.  This direct military challenge to Russia, who is assisting Syria, may provoke war.

According to the official Facebook/Twitter accounts of the Syrian Army, rockets were fired from Jebel Aqra, Turkey.  Jebel Aqra, properly Jebel al-ʾAqraʿ, is a limestone mountain located on the Syrian–Turkish border near the mouth of the Orontes River on the Mediterranean Sea. Its Turkish side is also known as Mount Kel, and is about one mile from the Syrian border.  The rockets struck Syrian Army positions inside Syria.

https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/585Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued orders to deploy nearly 7,000 troops, anti-aircraft, rocket launchers, and artillery forces to the Turkish border, and for them to be in readiness for full combat.

The only source for this "news" is New York "superstation95.com". The reason to post it is that this "news"if true, might be the start of a larger conflict. The "news"looks possible. The very big questionmark to put is why no body else is reporting such major developments ? The internet would be full of it if this is correct.

Turkey has (allowed) been firing on Syrian forces from Turkey http://www.veteranstoday.com/2015/11/28/syrian-army-fired-upon-by-mortars-from-turkish-territory/.

http://www.infowars.com/us-turkey-edging-up-to-syrian-border/ infowars might be correct that Turkey could create a "safe zone" inside Syria for "refugees" (=IS). The EU has just promised 3 billion € to "stop the refugee crisis" they created themselves. But so far Turkey is putting troops at the Syrian border not yet crossing it on a massive scale.

Also http://www.turkishstraits.com/ gives the impression that Turkish straits are open. http://www.bosphorusstrait.com/bosphorus-live/ shows international shipping in area.

Russia and Armenia may have joined forces against Turkey. But still also this is not yet the beginning of a major war. http://sputniknews.com/military/20151121/1030507715/joint-defense-system-russia-armenia-nato-isil.html

http://southfront.org/turkey-is-ready-to-invide-syria-concentrated-1000-units-of-military-equipment-at-the-border/

According to the reports, about quater of the Turkey’s 1st Army is already located at the Syrian border. The Russian Air Force’s base in Latakia could be a target of the possible attack.

On the other hand, relocation of troops is reported is authorized by the United States urging Turkey to deploy thousands of additional military personal along its border with Syria “to block the movement of ISIS terrorists”.

http://southfront.org/turkish-submarines-began-tracking-russian-guided-missile-cruiser-moskva-off-syrian-coast/

There are at least two Turkish Navy submarines in the area where guided missile cruiser “Moskva” is providing cover for the Russian airbase “Hmeymim” in the Syrian city of Latakia, – Istanbul media reported.

According to the Turkish General staff, currently the submarines in the Eastern Mediterranean are “Dolunay” and “Burakreis”. “Dolunay” departed for patrol duty on November 11, “Burakreis” on 7th.

https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/588

The Russian missile ship Moskva was ordered to move closer to the coast of Syria so as to use its "Fort" missile system to protect ongoing Russian air operations over Syria.  Today, it is reported by the Russian news agency INTERFAX, that the Turkish Submarines "Dolunaj" and "Burakreis" are shadowing the Moskva.  Russia has thus warned publicly that "any threat to Russian armed forces will be destroyed."

Over the weekend, it appears that Turkey has begun a defacto naval blockade solely of Russian Naval Military Vessels between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.  In order to travel from one sea to the other, vessels must transit the Strait of Istanbul which has two components: The Dardanelles and the Bosporus.   The Dardanelles is a narrow waterway between the Mediterranean and the Sea of Marmora.  The Bosporus is another narrow waterway between the Sea of Marmora and the Black Sea.

The only time that Turkey is permitted to block the transit of other nations' military vessels is if Turkey is "threatened with aggression" or "at war."  Despite this Treaty restriction, over the weekend Turkish newspapers began publicly discussing the possibility that Turkey would "Close the throat" of Russian naval access to the Dardanelles and to the Bosporus. (They used those words!)  Russian media responded by pointing out this cannot be legally done since Turkey is not "threatened with aggression" or "at war."  Yet Turkey seems to have halted the transit of Russian warships through the Dardanelles anyway.  This is a developing story with frightening implications, since a "blockade" would be Casus Beli for war.

Today's revelation that Turkey has sent two navy submarines to shadow the Russian missile cruise Moskva raises these questions:

1)  Since the Moskva is there to protect Russian air operations over Syria, why is Turkey positioning military assets to potentially stop the Moskva from doing so?

2) Does Turkey plan to shoot down additional Russian military jets over Syria as it did last week?

3) Are the two Turkish submarines going to attack the Moskva if it defends Russian planes over Syria?

http://www.infowars.com/russia-syrian-army-plan-to-block-turkish-border/

Earlier this month the German newspaper Deutsche Welle published a report documenting the transfer of supplies across the Turkish border to areas controlled by the Islamic State.

The Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet also published reports revealing thetransfer of weapons to Syria by Turkey’s intelligence agency. The Turkish government responded to the reports by arresting journalists.

Operation Total Destruction

On Saturday the Egyptian news website al-Youm al-Sabe’ posted a report indicating Russia will soon launch a massive operation dubbed “Total Destruction,” according to Iran’s FARS news agency.

http://www.hindustantimes.com/analysis/turkish-president-wants-to-drag-nato-into-a-war-against-russia/story-vQdgvQi159szE9M8acZARM.html

http://southfront.org/russias-su-34-jets-launch-first-mission-with-air-to-air-missiles/“Today, for the first time Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber aircraft went on a mission carrying not only aerial bombs OFAB-500 and guided aerial bombs KAB-500, but with but with short and medium range air-to-air missiles,” the Russian Aerospace Forces spokesman, Col. Igor Klimov said.

The planes aer equipped with missiles for protection.

According to Klimov, the missiles “are equipped with homing devices and are capable of hitting aerial targets at a distance of 60 kilometers(37.2 miles).”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_of_Tonkin_incident

The Gulf of Tonkin incident (VietnameseSự kiện Vịnh Bắc Bộ), also known as the USS Maddox incident, is the name given to what were originally claimed to be two separate confrontations involving North Vietnam and the United States in the waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. The original American report blamed North Vietnam for both incidents, but eventually became very controversial with widespread claims that either one or both incidents were false, and possibly purposefully so. On August 2, 1964, the destroyer USS Maddox, while performing a signals intelligence patrol as part of DESOTO operations, reported being attacked by three North Vietnamese Navy torpedo boats of the 135th Torpedo Squadron.[1] Maddox expended over 280 3-inch and 5-inch shells in what was claimed to be a sea battle. One US aircraft was damaged, three North Vietnamese torpedo boats were allegedly damaged, and four North Vietnamese sailors were said to have been killed, with six more wounded. There were no U.S. casualties.[2]

It was originally claimed by the National Security Agency that a Second Gulf of Tonkin incident occurred on August 4, 1964, as another sea battle, but instead evidence was found of "Tonkin ghosts"[3] (false radar images) and not actual North Vietnamese torpedo boats. In the 2003 documentary The Fog of War, the former Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara admitted that the August 2 USS Maddox attack happened with no Defense Department response, but the August 4 Gulf of Tonkin attack never happened.[4]

The outcome of these two incidents was the passage by Congress of the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which granted PresidentLyndon B. Johnson the authority to assist any Southeast Asian country whose government was considered to be jeopardized by "communist aggression". The resolution served as Johnson's legal justification for deploying US conventional forces and the commencement of open warfare against North Vietnam.

I don't fancy Turkey's chances against Russia. Talk about David and Goliath.
Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

It is one coalition against another coalition with parties switching sides. This Syria-Iraq-IS-war is a proxy war over oil, water, power, religion. So far NATO troops have not yet attacked Russian positions in/near Latakia dressed as Free Syrian Army or IS. Also Turkey so far seems to not escalate the conflicts it has with Russia (over Syria, Armenia, entree to Black Sea, Ukraine etc.)

The main reason the Syria conflict has not "exploded" is Putin going after his goals and sticking to those goals. NATO is supporting Turkey (itself a NATO member) Saudi Arabia, Qatar that are supporting IS. The main goal of the "west" is still the removal of Assad. That IS then might take over control (just like the Taliban ended up taking over control in Afghanistan after the pull back of the Soviet Union in 1989) seems to be okay for that "west".

We can not afford another major war. Financialy, economicly, climate-wise, healthwise. The last large pandemic that killed up to 5% of the world population was linked to World War One. In 1918 both the Allied and Central powers may not have discovered the spanish flu virus they proberbly both did use it as a bio-weapon.

The next large pandemic will become a large pandemic because nations are trying to destroy eachother in stead of trying at least to survive and give a future to next generations. Our generation is leaving a legacy we should not be proud of. We have to do everything we can to make things better not worse !

https://www.rt.com/news/324076-turkey-su24-nato-responsibility/

By refusing to render an opinion on Turkey’s “intentional” downing of Russia’s bomber over Syria, and instead providing Ankara with political backing, NATO’s leadership has taken responsibility for the incident, Russia’s NATO envoy, Aleksandr Grushko, said.

Russia has received additional intelligence confirming that oil from deposits controlled by Islamic State is moved through Turkey on an industrial scale, said Vladimir Putin. President Recep Erdogan said he will resign if this is confirmed.

After several incidents, in which 130mm shells fired by Syrian rebel groups, particularly the Al-Nusra Front, reached the center of the Russian Khmeimin military enclave outside Latakia, the general staff in Moscow decided to rush heavy artillery reinforcements to Syria. DEBKAfile’s military sources report that Russia has transferred two types of heavy weapons systems by sea and by air to the front near Latakia during the past few days. - DEBKAfile’s military sources point out that, even though Russian President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu continue to claim that Russian forces will not be engaged in Syrian ground warfare, the heavy artillery systems brought to the country and their use in battle tell a different story. They show that Russian ground combat in Syria is expanding.

Turkey has made an agreement with one Kurdish group in Iraq. The government of Iraq only can rule with support from Iran. Iraq wants the Turkish army to leave Iraq and might call Iran/Russia for help. The US could use Turkish positions in Iraq for US special forces that Iran does not want in Iraq. Most people in the Middle East blame the US/NATO for IS. That does give neither Turkey or the US much room and makes public support for NATO planes in the region gone.

Houthi forces from Yemen, fighting Gulf kingdoms, have taken first positions in Saudi Arabia. http://southfront.org/houthi-advances-in-yemen-and-saudi-arabia-november-30-december-03/ (Saudi Arabia, supported by the west, supporting IS-Yemen supported by Iran) IS is getting more "troops" in Afghanistan. (Transport from Turkey, Pakistan, NATO ?). Kabul is considering to ask Russia for support in fighting IS. http://southfront.org/vilayat-khorasan-isis-takes-over-afghanistan/

On the Yemen-war:

The UAE has secretly dispatched hundreds of Colombian mercenaries to Yemen. This foreign army was quietly built in the desert over the past five years, initially trained by Blackwater. The arrival of 450 troops – some even from Panama, Salvador and Chili – adds to the diversity of government armies, armed tribes, terrorist networks and Yemeni militias currently.

A Houthi alliance spokesman said that the army and popular forces are advancing deep inside Saudi Arabia and capturing more military bases in the Southern parts of the kingdom. He added: “The Yemeni forces have managed to inflict heavy losses on the Saudi enemy inside Saudi Arabia.”

http://www.veteranstoday.com/2015/12/08/sunnis-working-with-turkey-to-prevent-shias-liberating-mosul-of-daesh/

The Arab population of Iraq’s Mosul are cooperating with Turkish forces to ensure that the city will be liberated from Islamic State (ISIL or Daesh in Arabic) by Sunni, and not Shia, militias, a representative of the Peshmerga, Iraqi Kurdish armed forces, told Sputnik on Tuesday.

On December 4, Turkey deployed up to 150 military personnel to northern Iraq’s Nineveh province, without Baghdad’s approval, allegedly to provide training to Kurdish militia who are fighting extremists.

“These [Turkish] forces have entered [Iraq] with agreement with Sunnis of Iraq and they are participating in the liberation of Mosul. The Arabs [of Mosul] don’t want Iraqi Shia militias to enter Mosul hence they asked Turkey to supervise the Sunni militia,” the Peshmerga representative said.

State Department authorizes sale of smart bombs to Ankara

DEBKAfile December 9, 2015, 8:30 AM (IDT)

The Pentagon announced on Tuesday that the State Department had approved a $70 million arms deal with Turkey including the upgrade of standard munitions to GPS-guided, all-weather smart bombs. The Defense Department's announcement said "It is vital to the U.S. national interest to assist our NATO ally in developing and maintaining a strong and ready self-defense capability."
DEBKAfile: In the framework of the sale, which will be managed by US defense contractor Raytheon, the Turkish air force will receive 1,000 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kits, which transform regular bombs into smart bombs with GPS guidance systems that are capable of hitting ground targets with great precision in any weather.

Johnray1, I have to disagree, Turkey might be doing what the NATO wants it to do; limit Russia, China, Iran.

Ukrainian nationalists and activists of the so-called Crimean Tatar Mejlis recently began to receive reinforcements in the face of right-wing members of the Turkish terrorist group ‘Grey Wolves’.

One of the organizers of the blockade of Crimea, Lenur Islyamov, on his blog posted a photo with the Turkish fighters; “Turkish patriots from the organization Bozkurtkar Turk Ulkuculeri, people call it — ‘Grey Wolves’, visited us at the blockade. The blockade is compressed”, — signed ‘Islyamov’.

‘Grey wolves’ (Bozkurtlar) appeared in the late 1960s as the youth wing of the far-right “Nationalist Movement Party”, which proclaimed the goal of uniting all Turkish peoples in one state. Colonel Alparslan of Turkey led the organization, and was an open admirer of Hitler and Nazi ideas. The Turkish state, regardless of whether it has formally forbidden the ‘Wolves’ or allowed them to emerge from the underground, actively used them to suppress opposition and promote foreign policy. On record there are hundreds of crimes by ‘Bozkurtlar’. They killed trade unionists, activists of the Kurdish movement, the Communists, protesting journalists and officials and staged a massacre on May Day demonstrations in Istanbul in 1977. It is believed that the crimes organized by the “wolves” death squads in the Kurdish areas stand in thousands of civilians.

This news is from TodaysZaman.com. The writers of this critical newspaper in Turkey face serious problems in their country for writing news. Most of the writers might be muslims. For their religion some "leaders" do not want to let these (real) journalists in their country. Calling for discrimination on bases of religion is not civilized behavior in my opinion.

As tension between Ankara and Moscow shows no sign of subsiding, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has accused Russia of carrying out an "ethnic cleansing" in Syria's Latakia, forcing out its Turkmen and Sunni population in order to create a safe haven and to protect Russian and Syrian bases.

"Russia is trying to carry out an ethnic cleansing in northern Latakia to force out all Turkmen and the Sunni population who do not have good relations with the regime. They want to expel them, they want to ethnically cleanse this area so that the regime and Russian bases in Latakia and Tartus are protected," Davutoğlu told members of the international media in İstanbul on Wednesday.

His remarks came at the time that Russia brought up the issue of the deployment of Turkish forces in Iraq at a UN meeting. It is the latest sign of the deepening diplomatic spat between the two countries that started when the Turkish air forces shot down a Russian warplane near the Syrian border last month.

The crucial fact is that Ankara is terrified of the “4+1” alliance fighting Islamic State, which unites Iran, Iraqi Shiites and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), as well as Hezbollah, with Russia.

In Syria, Ankara is virtually paralyzed, after the “stab in the back” downing of the Su-24; the Russian revelations of complicity between Turkey’s first family and stolen Syrian oil (Bilal Erdogan, a.k.a. Erdogan ‘Mini Me’denies everything); and the Russian Air Force relentless pounding of Turkey’s fifth column Turkmen. Not to mention the deployment of S-400s and even a third-generation submarine complete with Kalibr cruise missiles.

So Ankara now switches the attention to Iraq with a “counter-alliance”, made up of Turkey; the KRG (which – illegally – sells oil to Turkey); and Sunnis in northern Iraq under the supposed leadership of the sprawling Nuceyfi tribe in Mosul.

Ankara’s move plays straight into the ultimate ‘Pipelineistan’ war; the clash between two competing gas pipelines, Qatar-Saudi Arabia-Jordan-Syria-Turkey, or Iran-Iraq-Syria, at the heart of the Syrian tragedy.

Erdogan’s paranoia that Russia may cut off gas supplies to Turkey after the downing of the Su-24 – something that Gazprom simply won’t do – has led Ankara, in desperation, to force Baghdad, mob-style, to “accept” a Qatar gas pipeline crossing Iraqi, not Syrian territory.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
