Who notifies the farmer in china when there is a reported case of avian flu at a hospital from their chicken? Is there a certain organization that communicates with the farmers? Is it a FAO or WHO's role?

Considering that at any given time there are 4 billion chickens in China and 40% of them are back yard birds sold in local markets I doubt if anyone is keeping track of which bird is grown or sold where. And considering the level of corruption in China if they do have an FDA equivalent you can't believe what they say. It's why they end up with poison in Baby formula and lead paint on childrens toys! |

tracking food in China that's a good joke. I have been working in China for 5 and a half months with another 5 and a half to go. There is no food tracking here. In areas where there is a higher level of pollution than usual here they will mislabel their products point of origin so they can sell their product.
We import all of the formula for the baby, only buy fruit and vegetables from local farms and buy as much imported meat as is possible. |
