Quote Cases of seasonal flu have begun to appear in some parts of Western Europe. The flu season in Finland is likely to take off around the end of the year and peak in February during the traditional winter sport vacation period.

At present there are no indications that the H1N1-type flu virus that has already made the rounds of the southern hemisphere has mutated, according to Niina Ikonen, a special researcher at Finland's National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

Also I found interesting the figures of just how effective a flu vaccine is:

Quote According to THL, the vaccine prevents infection in 7-8 out of 10 people of working age who take it. The figure for children is 7-9 out of ten and for the elderly the prevention rate is around 50%.

I'm over 60 and got my first flu shot 2 weeks ago.
I'll never do that again. I had a 102 fever and body aches
for almost a week after the shot.
Oh. And know one in this area has the flu.......

As the effectiveness of the flu shot...    that 7-8 out of 10 is in the Lab.   They vaccinate you then expose you to the same strain and see if there is a immune response.    They are very effective in the Lab.

However I have seen almost NO evidence of their effusiveness in the real world.   As a matter of fact I keep seeing more research that suggests that the vaccine makes flu worse!
