A dead magpie has tested positive for the H5N1 strain of bird flu in Hong Kong - the fifth dead bird to be found infected with the virus in recent weeks. The bird was collected from a local village Thursday and died Friday, the government said Monday. Hong Kong has been spared from the recent bird flu outbreaks that have killed or forced the slaughter of millions of birds across Asia since late 2003. But the territory has found dead wild birds of various species with avian flu in the past year, and the government said last week a local chicken brought in from the mainland tested positive for the disease. Your post raises a good question. If the media is too busy to connect the dots for the public. This situation seems to be spiraling out of control. I have been telling all my friends to use there own judgment come to this forum and read. The reaction from most where I live is that I am crazy. Are we being paranoid. Am I paranoid. I don't think so. Do you question whether we might be over reacting. That is how I am being challenged. Does anyone feel the same way? |
