I find it slightly odd that anyone who dares to disagree with anyone else here is automatically branded as a troll.

I am not a troll on EDIT. I am a flamer, and there is a difference between the two. If you are interested in finding out there are some great articles on that back there.

Albert, Freud sends her regards and would love to come and visit...I am sure you have noticed that she  has a great interest in the subject of Avian Flu and she also promises not to drop any links to threads at that site which may embarrass you.

I can honestly say that I have no idea who 'Billy' is and it may well be someone who is not from BH at all so naturally I cannot vouch for that person.

Unconcerned, Flamers will have no purpose here AT ALL.  Every statement you make seems to have a little flame in it and I'm not sure this is going to work.   There is no need in mentioning half the things you say.

As far as effectiveness goes, in my opinion, trolls and flamers serve no purpose to the good of everyone else.

Albert, If and when this bird flu does hit the america's We need away to somehow flag the most important things on our site to print out . What happens when and if we do not have power. With all of the hard work that has been put into this dream of your's it world be over the top for a newbe to wade thur it all.

That's a good idea satomick.   We could probably locate the most important last minute emergency prep posts for people to printout just before the power goes.  We can place and hold all of the last minute advisory posts in a pre-designated forum until the time arrives.  It will be a "Break in the case of an Emergency only"  type forum lol.   We will even put a copy of the video "Old Friends" on a sticky to get them in the mood.   LOL

I think a short video would be fantastic. It could be a welcome video and then some direction about what to attend to first. I like the idea too of the "Break here for emergency" info. Do we have our own PDF for prepping? If we don't, it would be a great project for someone to sort through the essential threads and pull together some of the information. I was under the impression that we can no longer PM each other, isn't that right? I kind of miss it.

A welcome to AFT You tube video on the home page wouldn't be a bad idea, as Therese was saying.  Many sites are now posting welcome videos and site intros.  It's similar to Sitepal, but maybe even a little better.  Anyone want to make a video?

I am taking a three day class to learn to use the studio equipment including cameras etc at my local cable station in two weeks. After that I can use the studio for free and produce what ever I want. I would be happy to try to make an intro video. I have a friend who is male and about fifty. He has an extensive resume of acting doing commercials and work place educational videos, I'm sure he would help. I would need a script from you Albert, but I'd be happy to do it.

excellent job Therese.   The initial part should probably welcome people to the site, and then maybe how to participate on a forum, the types of members we have, etc .....   The second half can relate directly to the importance of prepping, what to buy, prepping on a budget, heating, water, and where on the site to find more info...

I think we should do a thirty second history of Avian Flu and why you started the forum, then maybe some stats, then the ideas you had. I definately think a little hard core stats about Bird Flu would help them be more interested in going deeper into the site. It could be a wonderful educational tool, but doesn't make it harder for people to access the site if there are a lot of videos on it? I'm not that up on that stuff.

THERESA AND ALBERT, This is really good really! Your dream is coming to it's own life. Albert videos are so much better than hunting for everything one needs in a hurry if they come to the site when the SHTF. WOLFGANG Iam sure it would and we can always add to it.

No links were put there Ryan. If you, or any other member wish to attack me as a troll, it would seem rather petty to bann me for setting the record straight wouldn't it?

You came to my home site, where I am a moderator in very good standing on a section where flaming is neither requested and is very clearly banned and accused me of being a hater...and you did so on my birthday.

The thread is still there because most of all I believe in free speech which any sane community should be based upon.

Now, stop being so silly and seeing threats where they simply should not exist. People will always disagree with you and aside from posting very personal information such as addresses bank accounts, childrens names etc it should be all good in a world where we sacrifice ourselves and our loved ones to preserve free speech.

It's also time to bring back the PPV 23 thread again for the next 6 months so we need to figure out where to place that link.  There would be a lot less deaths each year from complications to the flu if people would get the pneumonia vax, so it probably doesn't hurt either way.   We can maybe practice by trying to reduce the 36,000 who die each year.   Even if it saves one person, it's worth it.  There is a chance that this year's deaths may have already dropped since the previous year because of pushing the vax in the past.
