Albuterol shortage

   My adult daughter went to the doctor last week with an upper respiratory infection.  Her doctor told her there was currently an albuterol shortage for breathing machines.

	I was talking to our local pharmacist and he told me they had lots of medicines that they just couldn't get at the moment. I said are you having to supply a generic alternative and he said no, they couldn't get those either in some cases. So I said what do people do then? and he said they have to go without!! He also said that that doctors were being asked not to prescribe them. I came away thinking that no one takes medicines for the fun of it so some people would be in real trouble if they can't the medicines they need.
	Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.
