New York Times: Some May Carry Ebola Without Showing Any Symptoms and some interesting comments of aerosolized ebola "There is also some experimental evidence that Ebola and other filoviruses can be transmitted by the aerosol route. Jaax et alreported the unexpected death of two rhesus monkeys housed approximately 3 meters from monkeys infected with Ebola virus, concluding that respiratory or eye exposure to aerosols was the only possible explanation. |

The thing which makes this form of Ebola scary is that it gestation period is so long. Effectively everyone who gets it starts out asymptomatic and can infect others. I'm sure there will be a few Typhoid Mary's among the Ebola victims.
The airborne transmission of Ebola... It maybe possible, However the monkeys to pigs study which is often quoted shouldn't be used as evidence of airborne contagion. It has been debunked several times. It was a different virus to the one which is transmitting around the world now. There was also a reason why a monkey could infect a pig but it didn't work the other way around. People will be alarmist. lets not get sucked up in the hype.
