Sky news just announed Avian Flu in poultry. First outbreak in domestic
birds in EU. Heads down. press confirm: Austrian chicken gets flu From: Agence France-Presse From correspondents in Vienna February 22, 2006 THE deadly H5N1 bird flu virus has been detected in a chicken in Austria, a health ministry spokeswoman said today. It is the first time the virus has appeared in poultry in the EU. The chicken was contaminated in an animal pound in the southern city of Graz, where an infected swan was also being kept, spokeswoman Daniela Retzek said today. Me again: Apparently sharing a cage with an infected swan. Both caged together and commercial poultry not affeted. But this is sloppy behaviour and likely to happen again and again... On the same day that this loony says: A LLANDEILO poultry breeder has moved to quash fears of a bird flu epidemic striking the country and has insisted that he is more concerned about the egg market than the deadly virus. http://www.thisisammanford.co.uk/ammanford/news/NEWS2.html peace Edited by harpmandoodle |
