Hi, it's Jill and Becky here again. ME and Vicki are doing better with ME going back to work in August. Vicki will need almost 24/7 care for the rest of her life. She has heart damage and lung issues. We have gotten them thur the worst of it. The medical bill total so far is 6.9 million dollars for the both of them. Now, the vast majority is ICU care for both of them. it cost 5.3 million for 82 days of ICU for two profoundly disabled adults. Thank you for all of your help and ideas. We are going to continue to provide care to the two them for life. Our families have agreed that relocation is the best path to go. We have brought a house nearby and we will care for them to the rest of their lives. ME and Vicki are extraordinary human beings who have given the world a pathway to beating COVID. Many experts have contacted us on the care of profoundly disabled patients with COVID. All we can tell them is that ME sounded the alarm and his leadership, courage and grit probably saved both of them. He attributed his survival to AFT and Vicki's love. Experts from the CDC, NIH , and many medical schools have used our example to show how yes COVID is not a death sentence fro profoundly disabled . It takes cash and courage to care for them. As long as you have an Insurance company who says screw the costs and you have insanely brave heatthcare workers with advanced educations and technology, miracles are possible. But first you need someone who cared enough to sound the alarm. Thank you to all of you here. Love, ME, Vicki, Jill , Becky and families. |

Thank you both! I think I speak for all of us when I say: "Thank you!" Our members are valued, all of them. ME is particularly popular. This is wonderful news about their continued improvements. We also like to think we supply a useful service; information being a particularily rare comodity in a crisis. That made your contributions all the more valuable. So, Thank you Jill; Thank you Becky and our love to all four of you. X X X X |
