DJ,

Xi did have talks with zelensky on "what to do with Ukraine"....The US/NATO is running out of options-facing defeat...only the timing/costs offers different scenario's...More "help" for Ukraine may keep the war going on for some extra months...Bring Ukraine even more destruction, suffering...deaths...

The EU is NOT able to break with China...the Chinese and EU economy is already very "mixed/linked"...if Chinese companies do not own EU companies (like Volvo) China is buying "a lot of European products" (German car industry over 30% export to China...). A lot of major EU companies have factories in China...

BRICS is now facing 19 possible new members....Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa(Suid Afrika) could be joined by Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Vietnam, Indonesia ? Part of those countries also in SCO...

DJ-We are facing a "global revolution"...Asia is taking over from "the west"....

Let me be honest; I always have my doubts on "revolutions"...it can replace one elite with another elite...In this case "unipolar" US dominated world may face a risk of "unipolar" China domination....

China is -in many ways- a motor behind BRICS and SCO...China has very clear plans, strategies, for a "new silk road"...DJ-and you need a plan to work with...

For that matter -after 1991 the end of the Soviet Union- the "west" did not show much of a plan...Some in the US pushed for US global domination...the rest of the world would have to pay for US endless debts...That plan was "not very clever" because it needed US military to enforce it...so we did see lots of wars after 1991 to "keep US #1"...

BRICS+, SCO+, OPEC+ EAEU is supposed to bring a more balanced global perspective...however https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)#Table or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)#Table indicates China economy as a very major dominant factor !

So China has to learn from western mistakes;

-The US was the motor behind lots of wars...not only after 1991...at the end it did damage the US...diplomacy would have been the better option !

-The EU tried to move to "geo-politics" but so far failed to do so...In Ukraine the EU acted as a US vassal-damaging European interests

-France, Hungary others -even in both EU and NATO- more and more follow their own strategy...

-NATO did become a US tool for global agression...a way for the US to sell US weapons...defending the US$...

The job Xi/China has to do is a big one...

-Try to find ways to end conflicts-limit the US in starting more wars/chaos..

-Find a better balance in a new "global order"...

-Avoid a new "unipolar" scenario in wich China ends up as  the "only major global player"...

---------------

DJ, The EU and China in GDP by PPP are able to replace the US as "global factor" in the short term, India needs some time to develop further. The EU needs new leaders working for Europe NOT the US...(the UK may rethink its position towards the EU. Can Ukraine in the EU help to create "a better world" ?)

Several (future) BRICS members are willing to invest-often also need to invest-in countries in need of investments...

The "west" kept poverty in Africa, Latin America, Asia going...exploitation for western interests often in only in name did see de-colonization...BRICS+ etc. has to do better !

We face very major crises !

-Global health risks are escalating

-Climate collapse is ongoing

-To many weapons in to many places increase risks of wars and crime

-Poverty, starvation is unacceptable !

-Education, healthcare, housing, water/food are BASIC !!! human rights -all over the planet !

We need international cooperation to deal with these problems-the west failed-at least till now !

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

part 2,

China calling Belarus a strategic partner may be followed by China calling Ukraine a strategic partner....with Xi and Putin also in communication to agree on goals...

China -for now- may be able to get Ukraine back on its feet...If zelenski wants to stay in power he may need a new partner...The US/west pushed for Ukraine starting/escalating a war with Russia. It did destroy Ukraine and for what ?

Russia has "historic problems" with lots of eastern European countries -often once part of Russia/Soviet Union or USSR-bloc. So Russia may not be in the position to be a "bridge" between China, India and Europe/Africa...but it will be a major partner for China, India, Japan, Korea...Russia may be "usefull" in Asian relations that may be a problem for China...Improving India-China relations could be one big job...Korean reunification an other...

"Win-win-cooperation" with China/BRICS has to offer benefits for BRICS partners...NOT bring Chinese dominance as a new colonialism...

For that matter in the CoViD pandemic China, India and Cuba-Iran were major non-western pharma producers-often giving vaccines/medication FOR FREE !!! to countries in need !

https://www.debka.com/us-gen-mckenzie-israel-and-us-have-lost-their-air-force-edge-to-irans-kamikaze-drones/ or https://www.debka.com/us-gen-mckenzie-israel-and-us-have-lost-their-air-force-edge-to-irans-kamikaze-drones/ ;Within a decade, Iran has managed to wipe out the regional air superiority Israel and the United States long enjoyed, says former US Central Command chief, Gen. (ret.) Kenneth McKenzie. He assigned this success to Tehran’s focus in the past decade on building a vast fleet of suicide UAVs and massive arsenals of long-range missiles and short and medium range ballistic missiles. In the general’s view, the danger these forces represent to the countries of the Middle East does not fall short of a nuclear threat and may even surpass it, since there are limits to the use of nuclear weapons, but not to drones and missiles.

DJ...BRICS bringing peace to the Middle East should be top-priority !

My view/dream is Israel playing a constructive role in west Asia...Israel-Iran cooperation on science, healthcare...

The first country to recognize Israel in 1948 was the Soviet Union-still under stalin...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel%E2%80%93Russia_relations#History or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel%E2%80%93Russia_relations#History

With the German invasion of Russia in 1941, Joseph Stalin reversed his long-standing opposition to Zionism and tried to mobilize worldwide Jewish support for the Soviet war effort. The Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee was set up in Moscow. Many thousands of Jewish refugees fled the Nazis and entered the Soviet Union during the war, where they reinvigorated Jewish religious activities and opened new synagogues.[9] From late 1944, Stalin adopted an openly pro-Zionist foreign policy apparently in the belief that the new country would be socialist and would speed the decline of British influence in the Middle East.[10]

In May 1947, Soviet Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko told the United Nations that the Soviets supported the partition of Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state.[11] The Soviet Union and its satellite states voted in November 1947 for the UN Partition Plan for Palestine.[12] On 17 May 1948, three days after Israel declared its independence, the Soviets officially recognized Israel.[13]

Golda Meir was appointed Israel's ambassador to the Soviet Union, with her term beginning on 2 September 1948 and ending in March 1949. She attended Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services at the Moscow Choral Synagogue.[14] However, once Israel had been established, Stalin reversed positions, favoured the Arabs, arrested the leaders of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, and launched attacks on Soviet Jews.[15]

DJ...Putin invited Netanyahu to the victory-may 9-parade in Moscow a few years ago. Russia is a major factor in Israel(i) history...Iran has its own history with the Jewish minority;

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Iran#Pahlavi_dynasty_(1925_to_1979) orhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Iran#Pahlavi_dynasty_(1925_to_1979) ;

Even though Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was very positive towards religious minorities and especially Jews in the beginnings of his reign as king, he displayed antisemitic tendencies in the last decade of his rule. During an interview with Mike Wallace in 1976 Shah spoke of a highly organized and influential Jewish lobby in the United States that controls banking, politics and media and is pushing people around for the interests of Israel.[76]

-

During the Iranian revolution, many Iranian Jews joined the revolutionaries in order to lose their Jewish identity and be part of the utopia that the revolution promised.[78][79] In summer of 1978, 7000 Jews protested against the Shah in Ashura protests. Other estimates puts the Jewish participants in the protests as high as 12000. Almost all the religious leaders of the Jewish community such as Yedidia ShofetUriel DavidiDavid ShofetYosef Hamadani Cohen, Rabbi Baalnes, and Rabbi Yadegaran participated in the protests. Other non religious leaders of the Persian Jewish community such as Aziz Daneshrad, Haroun Yashayaei, Yaghoub Barkhordar, Hoshang Melamed, Manuchehr Eliasi and Farangis Hasidim also participated in the protests.[80]

Leaders of the Jewish community such as Yosef Hamadani Cohen and Yedidia Shofet were instrumental in managing the collaborations between the Jews and the revolutionaries.[81]

-

Estimates of the Jewish population in Iran until the census 2011 vary. In mid- and late 1980s, it was estimated at 20,000–30,000, rising to around 35,000 in the mid-1990s.[102] The current Jewish population of Iran is 8,756 according to the most recent Iranian census 2012/2013.[103] According to the latest Iranian census, the remaining Jewish population of Iran was 9,826 in 2016;[104][105] In 2018 a PBS program on the Jews in Iran claimed the population was 15,000.[106] The Jewish Virtual Library gives the total of Jews In Iran in 2019 as 8,300.[107] A 2021 population website numbers the Jews In Iran as 8,500 in 2021.[108]

DJ, The Jewish diaspora did see Jews fleeing to Russia, Iran, Europe, America's...the US is NOT the only factor in Israel !

part 2

Both the fossil fuel-energy and US$ global domination have to decrease...

Replacing fossil energy with alternatives means innovation-also to increase effective use of energy...Do more with less energy...

The global climate disaster we are in already needs global answers...

Parts of Asia, Africa, America may not only become to hot for food production but also for people to live...We may be facing over 1 billion people in need of a place with liveable climate.

If we want to avoid mass movements we need to start solving problems NOW !!!!

-In cities there are many ways to cool urban enviroments...Replacing slums, bad housing, by parks/water would need better housing for the poor.

-We have to move away from cars...move towards "15-minute cities" were most essentials can be reached by foot/bike in 15 minutes...

-We need family planning. A "one-child-policy" may go to far but a decrease of population is welcome

-Religion can be both a problem and a solution...promotion of large families-to increase the number of church members is "primitive"...girls/women have aright of education, healthcare AND a right to make their own choices in  children, religion !

-Unemployment is a waste of human potential...there is that much work to do ! States need to organize work better !

-If we want to survive as humans we need all the tools available-so training more doctors, engineers is urgently needed

-Organized crime must be beaten by offering better alternatives...a decent society with perspectives for ALL will see less (organized) crime...

DJ-For that matter it is not only a job for countries, politics...but it is a job of ALL citizens to start thinking "what can I do for humanity"! The definition of "success" has to change...people helping others has to be seen as a bigger success then reaching your first million by selling weapons...

I would love to believe "we still have a chance" to make this world a better one...but it is a very big job and we have to start NOW !!!

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

DJ,

(S)TIP-IC...(Syria/Saudi Arabia) Türkiye-Iran/Iraq-Pakistan link with both India and China...in th e west Europe and Africa...lots of invesments in rail, roads also to create economic growth in SW Asia itself...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_North%E2%80%93South_Transport_Corridor or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_North%E2%80%93South_Transport_Corridor ;

The International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC) is a 7,200-km-long[1] multi-mode network of shiprail, and road route for moving freight between IndiaIranAzerbaijanRussiaCentral Asia and Europe. The route primarily involves moving freight from IndiaIranAzerbaijan and Russia via ship, rail and road.[2] The objective of the corridor is to increase trade connectivity between major cities such as MumbaiMoscowTehranBakuBandar AbbasAstrakhanBandar Anzali, etc.[3] Dry runs of two routes were conducted in 2014, the first was Mumbai to Baku via Bandar Abbas and the second was Mumbai to Astrakhan via Bandar Abbas, Tehran and Bandar Anzali. The objective of the study was to identify and address key bottlenecks.[4][5] The results showed transport costs were reduced by "$2,500 per 15 tons of cargo".[5] Other routes under consideration include via Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

DJ, Besides these developments in West Asia China is also investing in rail/road links to the Indian Ocean via Pakistan, Myanmar...

Ukraine could become a "partner" linking Asia with Europe 9maybe with trade from/via Türkiye, Iran/Iraq-less from/via Russia).

So how does the US react to Asia becoming the global major player ?

The House committee dedicated to countering China began preparing bipartisan proposals for the fiscal 2024 defense authorization bill that would accelerate U.S. munitions production and arms transfers to Taiwan.

DJ, Maybe it is time "the world" decides Alaska in a "One America policy" should be Russian again...California-Texas belong to Mexico....Maybe we-the Durch-should take over New York, New Jersey...so around 30 million people there will become living in "Nieuw Nederland"...(even if Flanders would form a federation with NL we would not get to 30 million Dutch now...)

Russia taking over Spitsbergen (Svalbard) from Norway as compensation for Norways role in blowing up Nordstream...Russia taking over Greenland...

---------

Why does the US think it has a "right" to put "boots on the ground" on every spot of this planet ? Does the US have a "right" to have military in East Asia ? Taiwan-US "rules" is part of China....

DJ-The Dutch played a historical role in South Africa,  America (Nieuw Nederland...now New York/NJ but also Recife-Brazil, Suriname, Carribean) and some parts of Dutch heritage are "not looking good"...a protestant religion was mixed with racism and a sense of superiority...DJ-I think "Yankee" may be more related to "Janneke" (Dutch girls name)  then "Jan (and) Kees" Dutch male names...When the British took over Nieuw Nederland they named the Dutch "Yankee"...that is how it started...Church services till the end of the 19th century in former Nieuw Nederland may have been in Dutch...https://english.cultureelerfgoed.nl/latest/weblog/2021/dutch-traces-in-america or https://english.cultureelerfgoed.nl/latest/weblog/2021/dutch-traces-in-america

The present US is a problem...but it is a problem with lots of major European roots...

By the way https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Russia or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Russia ;Two accounts of the flag's origin connect it to the tricolour used by the Dutch Republic (the flag of the Netherlands).[1][2]

DJ...the Russian flag also "is Dutch".....(coffee !)
