technically, it was islamic extremists singling out a whole type of personal religion/background would be considered a bit prejudice. Im not really into the pride of a country considering america is like the most diverse country in the world.im voting for who ever appeals to me the most in terms of my interests. which is mostlikely gonna be a democrat.
Be prepared! It may be time....^_^v

I agree, we probably shouldn't have went into iraq! But, the truth is the Democrats (Congress) approved of the war also.....haveing reviewed  the same intelligence reports. Hillary also supported the 'War" when it was popular!!

But, like a good Clinton has changed her mind because of the "election"........WOW...that's a Great Leader!! ....

So, I think we can differ on politics.

On the surface a Clinton/Obama ticket might seem unbeatable.....However for Hillary to win The "General" election , she will have to carry a Southern state!! That will be very hard to do. Of course that makes "Ohio" the main Battleground state again ( In my opinion).......unless, Hillary can win Arkansas! .....which I don't think she can.

Clinton will carry the "Black" vote with or without Obama, so he won' be much help there!!

Hillary will be going very negative on Obama!! That won't help either!!

Edwards should Quit and endorse Obama!!......I think he would win the Nomination in that scenario. ...........I still think the Republicans will be hard to beat in the General election!.......my opinion!.....Bush has disappointed!!

Thank you for the kind words gypsy.  Even during a pandemic of some sort, I would still wish most of my fellow humans the best of luck.  I have the room to spare, so I figure if I can help only one or two others to survive, then it is a good thing.  Besides, my motives are partly selfish in nature.  I would rather have company than be alone, and more people around means more things get done around the "compound". Wink

As for politics, yes, we can disagree.  I think Hillary will carry Arkansas, as it is a traditionally blue state...and the home to our Favorite Son...Bill!  I suspect more folk around the nation would support Bill than they would admit in public.  During the 1996 Presidential election, all we heard around the country was how Bill was a draft-dodger, womanizer, dope-smoking, gay-loving good ole boy...and how they hated the man and his policies.  But it was all BULL****!  Who did they re-elect?  Why, Bill of course! Tongue  And I dare say that if Bill was able to run for a third term, hew would have been re-elected then as well.

People didn't know just how good a thing they had with Bill and Hillary in office.  Of course, after 8 years of utter incompetence by the Dubya administration, more and more people pine for the "good ole days" of Bill.

I also know that Hillary is not Bill, and she has had to be her own self, with her own agenda, and not Bill's.  But I also think that she listens to Bill more than we might think.  After all, Bill is quite the politician...smooth, compassionate, articulate, experienced.  Unlike Obama and Edwards (who I feel is far too smarmy for my tastes).  Edwards rallies for the poor working man, and portrays himself as a poor man who made good.  And then goes and gets a freaking $400 haircut! Angry  WTF?  I suppose Super Cuts was just too beneath him (being a lawyer and such).

I am still trying to determine which states, besides Arkansas, Hillary will carry in the primaries.  I suspect she will do better in the South than the pundits believe...especially in states like Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Mississippi.  I think she may carry states like Arizona, New Mexico (especially once Bill Richardson is out of the race), Nevada and California.

It should be an interesting Spring.

I think you shoud send Ross Perot a thank you note for helping Bill Clinton get elected the first time!! why didn't Arkansas vote for Bill's Vice-President Al Gore? It amazes me that so many people can be so easily misled. It must have touched your heart to see Hillary's "Tears" in NH.

Since everyone is expressing opinions here, how about nationally-recognized psychic, Sylvia Brown's predictions: Dubya's numbers will go so low, they'll fall off the chart; the troops will start coming home from Iraq this year; Hillary will look very Presidential until around June, then Barak will be the frontrunner; there will be a Democrat in the WH. 2008 will be a much better financial year than 2007.

Hey, who says her predictions are any better or worse than anyone else's?

Iowa debate: really got Sen.Edward's passion. It came right through the TV. Obama proves he can win. Rommney shows his colors.
NH: McCain proves he's a son. Hillary machine is working full-steam ahead (watch out for campaign shennanegans). Richardson, good man, in the running for VP.

George W. Bush Declares Himself Dictator During A Catastrophic Emergency
roguegovernment.com  "National Security Presidential Directive/NSPD 51 puts the President in charge of ensuring constitutional government for all three branches of government in the case of a catastrophic emergency. This effectively makes the President a dictator. The directive itself is unconstitutional and ensures constituational government wouldn't exist.

it appears soAngry!
http://watchingthewatchers.org/news/1349/nh-voting-e-hacked-brad-and-paul

It gets weirder, especially for the Ron Paul crowd: Despite actually getting votes....they weren't reported!!!

From Slashdot:

"Multiple indications of vote fraud are beginning to pop up regarding the New Hampshire primary elections. Roughly 80% of New Hampshire precincts use Diebold machines,
while the remaining 20% are hand counted. A Black Box Voting contributor has compiled a chart of results from hand counted precincts vs. results from machine counted precincts. In machine counted precincts, Clinton beat Obama by almost 5%. In hand counted precincts, Obama beat Clinton by over 4%, which closely matches the scientific polls that were conducted leading up to the election. Another issue is the Republican results from Sutton precinct. The final results showed Ron Paul with 0 votes in Sutton. The next day a Ron Paul supporter came forward claiming that both she and several of her family members had voted for Ron Paul in Sutton. Black Box Voting reports that after being asked about the discrepancy Sutton officials decided that Ron Paul actually received 31 votes in Sutton, but they were left off of the tally sheet due to 'human error.'"
Human error or.....software manupulation?

I've been voting since I was 18, and I'm now 68.  I can't understand why so many of you are willing to vote someone into the White House who won't salute the American flag. Please clue me in.

God bless. Jo

For the Clinton-haters here, let's take a little looksie at Bill's record while in office:

WASHINGTON:   "For the past decade, there has been a conservative crusade to:
a) deny Bill Clinton's policies any credit for the historic prosperity the nation enjoyed during his presidency, or
b) deny that those good old Clinton days were really that good at all.

First, when Clinton won the White House, the federal budget deficit was at a historic high of $290 billion, 10 million Americans were out of work and the nation's economic growth rate under the outgoing Republican administration was the lowest in more than half a century.  Clinton introduced his controversial economic plan that raised the income taxes of the richest 1.4 percent of Americans.  We immediately heard from the Gloom and Doom congressional Republicans, every one of whom voted against the Clinton plan.  Sen. Phil Gramm, R-Texas, announced, "This tax bill is a one-way ticket to a recession." House Republican Whip Newt Gingrich predicted, "This is the Democrat machine's recession, and each one of them will be held personally accountable."
What followed is unarguable: creation of more than 22 million new jobs; the nation's lowest unemployment rate in 30 years; the lowest unemployment rate among women in 40 years; and the lowest Hispanic and African-American unemployment rate in history.  The nation went from the largest budget deficits in history to the largest budget surpluses in history, while the average family's income went up more than $5,000.
Faced with a recession that never appeared, Republicans went from assigning blame to denying the improving economic situation.  In 1996, GOP presidential nominee saw the dark side: "(Clinton's) big-government policies slammed on the brakes, starting with the largest tax increase in the history of America . . .  His economic legacy is the Clinton crunch, slow growth, high taxes and stagnating wages."
Rep. Dick Armey, R-Texas, agreed, "Two factors combine to make up the Clinton crunch: taxes going up and incomes going down."  That November, three out of four voters said they were better off economically than four years earlier, and Clinton became the first Democratic president since FDR in 1936 to win a second term.
Time to switch arguments for the GOP in the face of a booming economy.  Former Vice President Dan Quayle spoke for many in his party: "We do have prosperity, but let's give credit where credit is due.  Ronald Reagan started the prosperity we have today.  George Bush continued it (sic).  And Bill Clinton inherited it."
After the federal budget deficit had gone down each of the Clinton years and the cascading tax revenues generated by the prosperity led in 1998 to the first balanced budget in 30 years, Clinton still got no credit.  "The federal government is balancing its budget, thanks to the Republican Congress," said Senate Republican leader Trent Lott of Mississippi.
But what about the continuing great economic news under Clinton? Lott offered kudos: "I agree that Bill and Al deserve a lot of credit, but I'm talking about Bill Gates and Alan Greenspan."  Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, agreed: "I agree that Bill and Al are responsible for the prosperity we are currently enjoying across America.  That's Bill Gates and Alan Greenspan."
So Bill Clinton had nothing to do with the nation's economic record of the '90s, according to fair-minded Republicans.  But wait, President George W. Bush in his speech on corporate responsibility blamed the faltering economy on the Clinton economic expansion: "We were in a land where there was endless profit.  There was no tomorrow ...  and now we're suffering a hangover from that binge."
Let's be blunt.  Bill Clinton gave his political opponents a pistol loaded with his own reckless and unacceptable self-indulgence, and then re-loaded it on the way out the door with his pardon of the loathsome Marc Rich.  But Mike Michaud was right.  Bill Gates is still there.  Alan Greenspan is still there.  The House Republicans are still there.  Ronald Reagan's tax and budget policies are still honored in the White House.  The only two things missing are a good economy and Bill Clinton.

 More of Bill's accomplishments:
  1. Tried to get Health Care for ALL Americans.
  2. National Health Care Costs which had been rising at 10% per annum was cut to 3% (because the health industry was terrified of public-service healthcare and wanted to make profit-making health care to look good - now that the G.O.P. is in charge, they're back to gouging the public).
  3. Deficit Reduction Package.
  4. President in a year when Fortune Magazine classified it as the "Greatest Economy in the History of the world"
( The G.O.P. effort to give the credit to Greenspan and/or the Republican Congress is hogwash and they know it.  We still have Greenspan and/or the Republican Congress and a Republican President, and the economy is now one of the "worst economies in the History of the USA!" )
  5. Wash. Post kept list of campaign promises : 162.  Clinton took action on 96% in first two years.
  6. Had the guts to put promises in a book "Putting People First" - Took action on 56 of the 58 promises made in his first two years.
  7. Crime Bill.
  8. 100,000 cops on street—crime down down down.

Obama??? Who is Obama

"Obama" redirects here. For other uses, see Obama (disambiguation).

Barack Hussein Obama (pronounced /bəˈrɑːk huːˈseɪn oʊˈbɑː/[1]) (born August 4, 1961) is the junior United States Senator from Illinois and a leading candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2008 presidential election.[2][3] He is the fifth African American Senator in U.S. history, the third popularly elected African American Senator, and the only African American currently serving in the U.S. Senate.[4]

Born in Honolulu to a Kenyan father and an American mother, Obama grew up in culturally diverse surroundings. He lived most of his early life in Hawaii. From ages six to ten, he lived in Jakarta, Indonesia. A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, Obama worked as a community organizer, university lecturer, and civil rights lawyer before running for public office. He served in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004, and after a failed bid for the U.S. Congress in 2000, he launched his campaign for U.S. Senate in 2003.

Obama delivered the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention while still an Illinois state legislator. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in November 2004 with a landslide 70% of the vote in an election year marked by Republican gains.[5][6] As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, Obama co-sponsored the enactment of conventional weapons control and transparency legislation, and made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In the 110th Congress, he has sponsored legislation on lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel.

Since announcing his presidential campaign in February 2007, Obama has emphasized ending the Iraq War, increasing energy independence, and providing universal health care as major priorities.[7] He married in 1992 and has two daughters. He has written two bestselling books: a memoir of his youth titled Dreams from My Father, and The Audacity of Hope, a personal commentary on U.S. politics.[8]

and some say Obama is

Probable U.S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama  was born
in Honolulu , Hawaii , to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr.,  a  black MUSLIM
from Nyangoma-Kogel , Kenya and Ann Dunham,  a white ATHIEST from
Wichita, Kansas.  Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii . When
Obama was two years old, his  parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya.
His mother then  married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.
When  Obama was 6 years old the family relocated to Indonesia . Obama
attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta . He also spent two years in  a
Catholic school.

Obama takes great care to conceal the  fact that he is a Muslim. He is
quick to point out that, 'He was  once a Muslim, but that he also
attended Catholic school.'

Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that he is not
a radical.  Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that  this
influence was temporary at best. In reality, the  senior Obama returned
to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct
influence over his son's education.  Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of
Obama's mother, Ann  Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama
was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta.  Wahabism is the RADICAL
teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now  waging
Jihad against the western world. Since it is politically  expedient to be a
CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in  the United States,
Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United  Church of Christ in an attempt
to downplay his Muslim background.  ALSO, keep in mind that when he was
sworn  into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the  Koran.

Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor
will he show any reverence for our flag.  During the playing of our
National Anthem, while others place their hands
over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag.
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy.

The Muslims  have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside
out,  what better way to start than at the highest level - through the
President of the United States , one of their own!!!!

I'm a "weak walking contradiction"?  Where's the contradiction between me prepping for a national disaster and my liking the Clintons? What sort of freaking drugs are you on?  Are you TRYING to antagonize me with the limp insults?

And here I thought we could carry on a decent conversation/debate about politics.  I can see now that it may not be possible, as your post (above) indicates.  Your rant shows your true feelings.  You seem to be nothing more than another Clinton Hater.

Just a passing observation about the above photo. Methinks all 4 people have their back to the flag and they all appear to be facing the same way (stage left, I think). The only thing I see is he doesn't have his hand over his heart. D

Inthesticks..........You are right! I do hate the Clintons....... passionatley! Because unlike you, I can see the truth!! The truth is Bill Clinton lied "Under oath" and was impeached!!! And that is a fact of history that cannot be denied......even in Ark-kansas!! For any sitting President to have sex and use fine "Cigars" in the OVAL office......is a charcter flaw unmatched by any President! It speaks "volumes" to how this man thinks and acts!! It was he that pointed his finger at the American people and lied about his "Sexual" behavior with an whitehouse intern!! Even in his last day in office he was stealing Whitehouse towles and china..........not to mention the "Pardons" that he sold for cash!!

It's common knowledge that he had the chance to kill "Bin Laden" but passed on that opportunity to do so!!! Why? ........

If this man and his Wife are so loyal to AR-kansas.....why didn't he stay there????  I 'll tell you why!!..............Little AR=kansas isn't good enough for him and his wife!!.......so come out of the "Stick's" and see his true character!! If you think Hillary and Bill care about anyone other than themselves.......then I have some "Whitewater" land to sell you!!

Bill Clinton has been out of office for 8 years now, and STILL...people bash the man.  Unbelievable!  Your blind hatred of the man has hidden "the truth" from you.  You need to drop the hate and get on with your life, gypsy2.  Geez....

So Bill lied under oath about his sexual indiscretions.  I don't really blame him....It is not as if he lied about something of importance to national security or lied to cover-up some heinous crime.  At most, the entire "sex" scandal should have been kept between him and his wife, and their God.  I dare say there are more than a handful of Republican politicans who have had, and currently have, their own skeletons they are keeping hidden.  Let's not get into all the Republicans who have been exposed for their sexual trysts with other males, let alone females.

Bill's sexual "character flaw" is not worthy of more than a slap on the wrist, as it did not endanger the nation in any way.  As for pardons?  They are at the discretion of each sitting President.  He/she may pardon anyone for any reason.  That Clinton pardoned some questionable people...well, that is fine by me.  It is no more than what Bush Sr. did or Reagan, or even Dubya himself.  Everyone is going to gripe about one pardon or another from any President.  Can't please all the people all the time.

As for being loyal to Arkansas...the Clintons are loyal to Arkansas.  What did you expect Bill to do after leaving office?  Return to run for Governor again?  I think not.  That would be a step backward for him.  He has gone on to better things now, and our nation is more the better for it.  As for Hillary, she had political aspirations of her own.  She couldn't just return to Arkansas and run for some state office, after being a First Lady.  She did the best thing to further her career...and I am proud of her for that.  That she went to New York and was elected Senator, where she remains today...someone up there certainly likes her, or she wouldn't have been kept in office.

Why wasn't Obama on the Michigan Primary Ballet? The Clintons had something to do with I'm sure. Uncomitted got almost as many votes as Hillary.

Why don't you stop with the Clinton bashing!  All the major Democratic candidates agreed to not campaign in Michigan for violating Democratic Party rules.  Hillary had already had her name on the ballot in that state...she simply left it there, instead of having it removed.  What's the big deal?

People either voted for Hillary, or they voted Uncommitted.  The Uncommitted votes reflect those voters who did not want to vote for Hillary.  Which still means that Hillary would probably have won Michigan, even if all the Demo candidates had been on the ballot.
