Found this link about the current bird flu being similar to the 1918 strain.

It's a well known fact that the two viruses are related. It's considered its predecessor. The only difference is that this new strain is a supped up version of the 1918 flu. This is why it didn't kill birds back in 1918, as well as other mammals back then. It's cousin, this superbug, seems to be significantly more virulent. Edited by Albert |
