So my experience with the Coof. (unvaccinated)

My son got it and I suspected he gave it to me. We were wrestling and watched a movie several hours before he tested positive. (he's fine now) So I'm thinking, I'm going down soon.

I felt fine for three days. Then I noticed I started feeling off. Standing up after dinner, I felt a woozy. Did a rat test and it came back positive.

Here we go I thought, so I had a shower, settled down, got water etc, set up, and then laid down. My back started to ache and I started to run a fever. 37.5c.

I put on two beanies, three jumpers, pants, socks, three blankets and was still cold. My temp peaked at 38.2c. The fever started at 8pm and broke about 6 hours later at 2am.

Afterwards I was trying to go to sleep, but a tickling cough was annoying me. I struggled to get comfortable. I found sleeping on my stomach (which I never do) stopped the coughing. I nodded off at around 4am.

I woke up at 10am, and I can't believe it. I feeling great. A little scratchy in the throat, and still coughing occasionally, but I could literally go for a run or a bike ride.

All the fuss.

I've had pimples that annoyed me more than this...

Cobber, we had much the same as you. My children only had a bit of a headache and felt a bit off. My hubby and I had what you had. But Josh is right. It's the second week that can be hard. You need to write down the day that you first had symptoms, and mark it on your calendar as day 1. Then keep a close eye on how you feel on day 8. If you suddenly feel unwell, then you are having an allergic reaction to the spike protein.

This is what happened to me. On day 8 I suddenly felt off, had a tickily cough and then started to feel my lungs with every breath, as if I'd just been for a really long hard run. They were aching. I started to test my blood oxygen and on day 8 it went from 98% to 92%.

So the treatment is to follow the Dr Shankara Chetty protocol. As soon as you feel the day 8 downturn, take an antihistimine tablet and take one full strength aspirin. The aspirin is an anti coagulent and the AH is to stop the allergic reaction. It's on day 8 that the tiny blood clots start to form and clog up your lungs and cause oxygen levels to drop. You will take these 2 tables every morning and night for 7 days.

I did this and yet still my lungs hurt, so I added my own extra treatment that I had read about in a French medical paper and I added a 7mcg nicotine patch to my arm. Within 3 hours my blool oxygen was back to normal and by the next morning my lungs had stopped hurting. I changed the patch every day for 7 days, then cut them in half for a further 7 days. Nicotine stops the ACE2 receptors in the lungs for taking up the spike proteins.

I'm a non smoker, and I don't think having a cigarette would have the same effect because of all the other chemicals present.

This is what worked for me, and I have had no after effects and no long covid. I felt like I'd had a flu and so was just a bit weaker for a couple of weeks but have made a 100% recovery.

By the way, I am not a doctor so don't follow my medical advice.

Cheers Kiwi mum. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah day three I can feel this going to the lungs. I'm trying to avoid bronchitis.

I felt like I was over it yesterday. Today I feel worse. Lots of coughing

My son had the same. He seems to be fine now.

Cobber,

You are at the stage of doing better than I did.  Be careful, seek medical help if you have trouble breathing.  I almost died, twice.

I hope that you recover from it.  We are all well, Jill and Becky are taking care of us.

I have high blood pressure and medicated, which increases my Ace2 receptors, so I'm high risk.

Dr Shankara Chetty, he's the boss. Just watched a few Youtube clips on his stuff. Great advice. There was another Indian doctor who was explaining the mechanism of how the virus tricks the immune system to fight itself. Very helpful information.

Our doctors here in Australia are painful. They are so trapped by the system, they can't provide advice for fear of having their license's pulled.

All you gong beaters out there thinking socialism is great... Think again. There are downsides. Mediocrity

Thanks again for the advice guys. will use

The nicotine patches made a huge difference to me. Maybe you should start them now. I started them on the day I started to feel my lungs hurt. I also started the AH and aspirin on the same day.

The second night was eventful.

Huge fever again. Crazy hallucinations. Never had that before.

Sore throat. Can't swallow.

Still alive  :)

Sounds awful. Can you gargle? That might help. Do you have Betadene Iodine gargle in Oz? We swear by it over here.

The Coof was terrible. Almost over it now.

The second night was horrendous. Fever, back ache and the worst part was my throat was crazy inflamed. I couldn't swallow liquids, and worse it was triggering my gag reflex.

So there I was, hunched over, fever, dry reaching and trying not to throw up for fearing stomach acid enflaming my throat more. This went of for an hour or more and was a real ordeal.

I learnt a great trick however...

And it came in part from something Kiwi said about taking aspirin, so earlier in the day I prepared to have water soluble aspirin on hand. It was sitting next to me during my reach-athon. I looked at the packet mid ordeal and thought, "I wonder if I gargle this will it help".  It helped alright. It was a miracle. However, if you use this method, don't do what i did.

I didn't allow the Aspirin to fully dissolve and a small piece got wedged in my throat in the pain zone. It bubbled away and hurt like hell.  It worked. It was only about two minutes and the aspirin stopped me gaging. Cheers Kiwi

Over all Covid hasn't been too bad. Its just like a bad cold or flu. I'm glad its over.

My wife is going through it now. She seemed to get sick at the same time as me, but her bad symptoms took a while to come on. She's literally throwing up as i write this..   yeah gotta go

Ha ha. That gargling with soluble aspirin was my mother's trick! She used to make us all do it whenever we had a sore throat. I'd almost forgotton about that, thanks for the reminder.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife. Middle aged women (with falling oestrogen levels) have been seen to be getting it quite badly. I certainly had it worse than any in our family. I hope she recovers soon.

I seem to be over the worst of it now. Little cough still and a terrible taste in my mouth. Metallic or Zinc. Yuck

My wife was late to the party. She had two nights of sweats. She got it in the gut, quite different to me. I hasn't seemed to effected her as much as I. She's still moving about.

i'm glad you're on the mend. I was fairly disturbed by an article I read yesterday that said that you can have Omicron more than once. It coincided with a friend telling me that his son has just tested positive for Covid for a second time in 3 months.

Well I may be a test case!  haha.  I had covid after memorial day weekend, got really sick, and then recovered and went on a cruise.  We shall see if having it helps you in some way if you are exposed to it again.  I have had it twice now and I got sick for 2 weeks both times.  I was able to work but my voice sounded terrible and I pretty much only talked when I had to.  SO if you didn't get sick, consider yourself really lucky!

Update.

Covid was not really all that bad.

Our family was all affected differently. I had it the worst. mainly my throat was terribly inflamed and I couldn't swallow for days. As said previously gargling aspirin was a magic little helper.

I also had several fevers, which I rode out and deliberately allowed myself to get very hot. Apparently this triggers the body's defenses.

It went to my lungs however it was mild infection. I had the worst taste in my mouth for about a week. metallic... Food tasted awful. A bit weak for a few days and then over it.

My son had fevers but not as bad. He had headaches and dizzy spells. He eventually had a sore throat and developed a cough. He pretty much played xbox through out the whole thing and watched breaking bad from start to finish.

Now he gets my Walter White references.

My wife had a very different experience. She got a sick stomach and threw up several times, Both ends too. She had mild fevers and a mild sore throat. Also experienced leg pain which drove her bonkers.  later she developed a cough and had the same metallic taste i had.  She had more lethargy. Super tired for a few days.

She slept through most of it. I was the opposite for me I couldn't sleep for three days. weirdly super alert.

After all's said and done Covid was not as bad as the Flu, Actually It wasn't any worse than a cold. I've had several colds where I developed pneumonia.

Pneumonia is a tough. It was my concern with Covid, but it never eventuated.

We are all good now.

Bungee jumping tomorrow

:)
