Has this been posted and/or discussed yet? I wonder if we as adults can get a booster? I realize this is only a preprint at this time.

MMR Vaccine Appears to Confer Strong Protection from COVID-19: Few Deaths from SARS-CoV-2 in Highly Vaccinated Populations

Published epidemiological data suggests a correlation between patients who receive measles-rubella containing vaccines such as the commonly available MMR vaccine, and reduced COVID-19 death rate. Similar observations were recently noted in a Cambridge Study by Young et al, who noted protein homology between the COVID-19 virus and the rubella virus, corroborating the evidence in this report. The epidemiologic associations suggest that a measles-rubella containing vaccine, as currently produced, may be protective against severe disease and death from COVID-19 exposure.

Hmmmm I don't know about this.  We had a measles epidemic just last year.  Tons of push that everyone be vaccinated.  Cuomo actually pulled funding from schools that didn't comply with vaccination and reporting.  Even my own doctor wanted everyone over 60 to get a booster.  I don't think it helped NY all that much.

This is what I posted back in April. They are looking into the Rubella component.

Anyway this is what I put and with the reference.

Repost

Some of us on this forum have believed for some time that one of the childhood vaccines may offer cross protection against Sars-2,  because protection is too blanket and too complete in children.  We discussed  MMR,  but immunologically  didnt know where the cross reactivity would happen as the viruses are all so different ?

I am just so glad they are now looking into this,  but wonder why it has taken so long.  It now seems they are looking  and found similarity in a domain ( genetic region), shared by all 4 viruses.

MMR was introduced in the UK vaccine schedule in 1988, before this single vaccines were given. ( not sure about date for US, Canada, China etc).   Interestingly the single Rubella vaccine wasn't traditionally given to men in 1970s in UK, only to woman because of  potential risk of german measles to fetus. Interesting as older men are now being hit the worst.

Note this is a pre-print article so data still has to be verified, so caution still has to be exercised,  but still worth a look at the article because it does fit in so well  with Sars-2 global epidemiology.

How easy would it be if this was the solution. Vaccinate with MMR.
