Now bojo finally is stepping up will https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liz_Truss or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liz_Truss replace him ?

bojo believed he was a reincarnation of Winston Churchill...truss thinks she is a reincarnation of thatcher...Of course we still have "Napoleon" macron in France...maybe someone could tell scholz in Germany that he is German P.M. ....

Here in NL rutte still sticking around even most people are totally fed up with him....The US has the "biden-disaster"....

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/game-over-in-uk-boris-johnson-to-resign-as-prime-minister-today or https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/game-over-in-uk-boris-johnson-to-resign-as-prime-minister-today

The REAL reason that Johnson is being ousted has to do with his government's response to Ukraine, the Sanctions imposed upon Russia, and how those economic sanctions have now backfired on the UK and on Europe as a whole.

The Sanctions against Russia are making it impossible for Europe to buy natural gas and without it, their economies cannot continue operating. As gas supplies in storage begin to run out, electric generation will have to shut down, and thus business cannot go on.   Unemployment will skyrocket exponentially and countries will collapse.

We await the official announcement that Boris Johnson has resigned, and also await word on who is likely to replace him.  6:40 AM EDT, July 7, 2022

I got a call from BBC Question Time months ago for a pre-interview so they could decide to have me on or not. When asked about Johnson & why I thought he'd failed so badly on pandemic response, I said 'he's a narcissistic sociopath'.... needless to say I didn't get called after!

Just reflecting on how obvious that was even at the time, but so few people on the media were willing to say it. This govt should've gone ages ago, if we had a media and opposition that was holding them to account.

Lies, lies and more lies right till the end. You didn't deliver the 'fastest vaccine roll out in Europe'. Our pandemic policy was utter failure. You delivered 197,000 covid deaths, 2 million people living with long COVID, mass disruption to society, long-term health & economy.

DJ Genocide by pandemic ...bojo should not get away with all his crimes...from the Ukraine war-killing tens-of-thousends of Ukrainians...to "freedom-day" starting a viral-mutation-escalation...

The bad news is "politics so far did not learn"...liz truss in Moscow acting like she was tatcher leaves no room for any improvement...a bit like replacing biden with h.clinton is not helpfull...

At least "something is moving"....

As expected, since mitigations and testing dropped, we've seen continuous excesses in mortality since mid-April in England- with between 1000-1,800/wk for the 3 wks leading up to 24th June. A large proportion of this is being driven by increase in mortality at home.

"Well done bojo"....

DJ...

It must play on Johnson's mind. He knows his chief record as prime minister will be lies, criminality and temper tantrums. But he must also know that in the years to come, the 'big calls' he got right - covid and Brexit - will also be seen as total disasters.

and

In a wider perspective, this is the most extraordinary thing A general election mandate and a substantial majority are the greatest gifts the the UK constitution can bestow on a PM And he trashed it

The British public gave Boris Johnson an 80-seat majority. He has completely wasted that gift. No wonder he's furious.

DJ, "Brexit" "Putin did it"...if Scotland would vote for getting rid of bojo...blame Putin...of course replacing bojo by another sociopath further damages any trust in politics...

This never-ending pandemic, with never-ending wars...created by the west, worsening climate disasters...It is more then welcome bojo is gone...but much more-better leadership-is urgently needed...We already are in a major political crisis....

In response to the news, the pound jumped 0.5% against the dollar, from $1.193 to a high of $1.199 in a modest relief rally, as investors reacted positively to Johnson’s expected resignation.

Finally, those curious who will be the next UK PM, betting service Ladbrokes has Ben Wallace at the head of the betting to replace Johnson. Rishi Sunak and Penny Mordaunt are second and third favorite.

DJ...this pandemic is political....Why did so many people end up getting this .... in power ?

The PM has made the right decision. The Government under Boris's leadership had many achievements - delivering Brexit, vaccines and backing Ukraine. We need calmness and unity now and to keep governing while a new leader is found.

or why she will be next...? (I think she may think of herself as being PM already...)

Boris Johnson has announced he will resign, which means there will now be a leadership election to decide who becomes the next Conservative leader and prime minister.

They will have to secure the backing of Tory MPs, with the final two candidates going to a ballot of Conservative members. But who are the potential candidates?

Remember, most of these MPs and ministers have not yet said whether they want the job of Tory leader and PM - but they are the ones to watch.

DJ link has more info on candidates and procedures....bojo stepped down as partyleader...still hoping to stay on as PM till party provides a follow-up in autumn...?  (The longer bojo hangs on the more damage he does to the UK....).

GO-Go bojo go !

Johnson may try to get someone elected who would look worse in office than he did. Liz Truss is a good candidate for that.

The process will be, as usual, a very dirty business - knives will be out to backstab certain candidates, deals will be made, favors will be promised and not be hold, people will be lied to.

It may be that a new leader will change Britain's political direction towards a more sane one, at least with regard to sanctions:

George Szamuely @GeorgeSzamuely - 10:43 UTC · Jul 7, 2022

The "Putin brought down Johnson" theme isn't gaining traction, even though there is some truth to it. Johnson's disastrous and unnecessary intervention in Ukraine has helped trigger the economic crisis that has brought him down.

Then again we might see more of the same:

Boris Johnson @BorisJohnson - 17:00 UTC · Mar 6, 2022
United Kingdom government official

Putin must fail.

Embedded video

But I doubt though that we will see any change in the British backing of Ukraine's Zelensky as the pressure to do that comes from Washington DC.

On February 28, five days after the start of the war in Ukraine, I made a prediction:

The final intent of this economic war is regime change in Russia.

The likely consequence will be regime change in many other countries.

Boris is only the first of many to fall over the steep price increases the 'western' sanctions on Russia have caused.

And lets not forget the Assad curse which can now count another entry on its already long casualty list:

Boris Johnson calls Assad a 'monster' who needs 'decapitating'Sky News, Apr 18, 2017

So its bye bye Boris. I hope I will never hear again of you.

DJ...of course bojo could decide "not to go" delaying the process..."the country needs him" etc....

It's all happening in the UK isn't it? I did read an article last night suggesting that Teresa May may be asked to sit in as a caretaker prime minister while the leadership battle gets fought. She's not interested in running for PM herself but she is the most qualified person to step in temporarily as she's a serving, elected member of parliament who has been PM before.

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

Theresa May could not even be the worst choice...Let me be honest-politics is "dirty work" not something I would like to be doing....

Another question several commetators ask; who is next ? Draghi-unelected in Italy...Macron-France..Scholz in Germany, Rutte in NL or Biden in the US...they ALL made a total mess of lots of things...

Bojo did not have to go "only" for "party gate", or placing "friends" in high positions they should not be in....

Both CoViD, a worsening healthcrisis, and the economic collapse because of the NATO expansionism wars against Russia are undermining the political elite position...

Replacing bad leaders by other bad ones only worsening the -exploding- political crisis the west now is facing...

"Our" economic future the coming years may be like "the big depression" after the 1929 financial crash...however since we also have the health (CoViD, aging) crisis and a climate crisis...did live on credit for decades...in fact the perspective for most of the west could be even worse...

There is already a foodcrisis, serious water problems...infrastructure breaking up...maintenance costs becoming impossible...So-we had a good time behind us...worse times in front of us...

Could Boris Johnson be tagged as the next Secretary General of NATO? That's what a somewhat surprising new report in The Telegraph suggests, indicating that "Ukrainian and Tory MPs support idea of PM being a possible candidate, though sceptics suggest he would likely be greeted with a French veto."

Jens Stoltenberg, who has been NATO chief since 2014, is expected to step down when his current term ends in September 2023. The recently scandal-plagued Johnson, perhaps looking to distract the public and media from the so-called "Partygate" ordeal at home, has already in six months of war visited Ukraine twice - and remains among the most outspoken hawkish Western leaders in frequently voicing condemnation of Russia and Vladimir Putin.

Sad piece, but it is true. With a vacuum in leadership we are stacking many crisis that will affect people hard in their livelihood. 100% a mirror of the Netherlands.

Inflation, energy bills and stagnant wages could mean destitution for millions. But Conservative ideology forbids offering answers

DJ...of course "guardian (of what ?) " itself has become part of embedded media spreading government propaganda to often...ignoring facts on climate change, pandemics, poverty, privatizations when it did not fit their "story"....

liz truss as the next UK-PM is a signal of politics going bankrupt...learning the hard way...DJ-I predicted  on july 7 "truss" would follow "bojo", one disaster replacing the other...I hoped to be wrong...

Again-if you do not stop diseases "call that "freedom"...(freedom of brains ???) you end up with an out of control healthcrisis...If you "privatize everythingh" out of an insane ideology you end up with ),1% "claiming to own everything"...Climate collapse is NOT solved with e-cars...

https://www.bbc.com/news/live/uk-politics-62760180 or https://www.bbc.com/news/live/uk-politics-62760180 ;

At 12:27 this afternoon, in private, Liz Truss will be told she will be our next prime minister.

Rishi Sunak will be told he has lost.

Ten minutes later, at 12:37, after a short speech from the Conservative Party Chairman Andrew Stephenson, the Chairman of the Conservative 1922 Committee Sir Graham Brady will publicly announce the result.

How can we be so certain of the outcome? There would, after all, be the biggest omelette of all time plastered across the faces of people like me if Sunak were victorious.

Well, no one seriously believes the result will be any different.

Throughout the summer, Truss has had a commanding lead in the opinion polls. So commanding, even if those polls were a bit wrong, it wouldn't change the outcome.

Team Sunak don't dispute this, although some supporters do think his margin of defeat may be narrower than some of those polls have suggested.

So what happens next?

After the result, we will hear a short speech from Truss.

And then at 1pm - in other words about ten minutes later - what was described to me as "onboarding" begins in Downing Street.

In other words, Team Truss start turning up to make sure they can log onto computers etc.

The prime minister-elect, as Liz Truss will be by then, will have another day to wait until she turns up.

Exercise Vigilant Knife, which took place in northern Finland from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2, was intended to further strengthen the interoperability of the three armed forces, the UK Ministry of Defence said.

UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said: “Whilst there is war in Europe, it is more important than ever to strengthen our international partnerships. We welcome Finland and Sweden’s application to join NATO and will continue to exercise together so we are ready to face shared security challenges.

“Exercise Vigilant Knife is an invaluable opportunity for UK personnel to develop their skills and experience of warfighting in cold weather conditions, enabling them to be effective on the battlefield alongside their Finnish and Swedish counterparts.”

Around 80 British army personnel took part in the exercise, travelling from the island of Santahamina in the south of Finland where they are undertaking a three-month training deployment as part of a security agreement between the UK and Finland.

As a light infantry company, British personnel provided anti-tank, sniper, and reconnaissance capabilities to the exercise and were primarily involved in both offensive and defensive actions to test the readiness of the Finnish forces alongside the Swedish unit.

DJ, Even the US was worried by bojo's extreme actions...bojo-believed he was an incarnation of churchill, truss "LT" thinks she is margeret tatcher...The UK is over-involved in the Ukraine war-with bojo visits to Kiev linked to end of peacetalks and "Ukraine offensives"....

LT "liberal conservative background" most likely means less money for public health, more taxmoney for wars...

some comments;

https://southfront.org/foreign-secretary-liz-truss-elected-as-new-uk-prime-minister/ or https://southfront.org/foreign-secretary-liz-truss-elected-as-new-uk-prime-minister/ ;

The foreign secretary has won the contest to become the next Tory party leader – and therefore prime minister – in a ballot of Conservative members.

She secured 81,326 votes (57%) to Mr Sunak’s 60,399 (43%).

It means she won by a comfortable majority, though it was tighter than some had expected.

Ms Truss said it is an “honour to be elected” as she thanked her party for organising “one of the longest job interviews in history”.

Liz Truss is known for her strident anti-Russian views. She is a strong advocate of anti-Russian sanctions and the continuation of the war in Ukraine until Russia is defeated.

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/rip-great-britain.html or https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/rip-great-britain.html ;

On July 7, when Boris Johnson finally stepped down as Prime Minister of great Britain, I wrote:

current poll says that party members would favor the current defense secretary Ben Wallace. But that does not mean they will get him as one of the two candidates to vote on as the MPs have the say over that choice.

Johnson may try to get someone elected who would look worse in office than he did. Liz Truss is a good candidate for that.

The process will be, as usual, a very dirty business - knives will be out to backstab certain candidates, deals will be made, favors will be promised and not be held, people will be lied to.

Liz Truss is less competent than Boris Johnson but at the same level when it comes to lying. She also has no empathy. In the end she will look worse in office than Johnson did.

The damage of the Brexit disaster is still getting worse. The energy crunch, caused by the economic war waged against Russia, is tearing the country apart. The British aircraft carrier Prince of Wales, which has no aircraft, broke a shaft and needs to pull into a drydock. The National Health Service is turning patients away for lack of resources.

Truss will worsen all that.

But the billionaires and banksters of the City of London will still applause her for lowering their taxes.

The first world war in Europe was largely about a declining British empire that feared the upcoming German competitor. It severely damaged the empire. The second world war finished it off.

Boris Johnson's Brexit has ruined Britain's real economy by cutting off its European markets. Now Liz Truss will ruin whatever is left of a once great empire.

With the election process rigged for the Tories and the Labour leadership held by the hapless and vindictive Ken Starmer there is little chance for regime change in Britain. When Truss falls the premiership could even go back to Boris Johnson.

DJ, Like draghi in Italy-now stepped down-LT is unelected by the general public...conservatives voted her in...avoiding general elections.

His premiership may be drawing to a close, but it’s not just  - all members of his Cabinet are responsible for the mistakes that have been made. A (non-exhaustive) list of times they’ve broken the law ⬇️🧵

DJ, WION India asked how much racism in the conservatives worked against (Indian billionaire background) sunak....Of course UK conservatives have a history of supporting fascism...Prior to W.W.2 sympathy of most of the west most was against stalin...Failing to stop hitler in time; welcoming his anti communist/socialist, trade union views...

tatcher, reagan were good friends with pinochet and sponsors of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Condor or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Condor killing tens of thousends people with "left wing" ideas...

So, BoJo-no doubt planning to run for next PM-good friends with zelensky fits in a pattern...

Since Labor others seem unable to come up with good national alternatives after the North of Ireland-still under English occupation, Scotland by now even Wales may think it is time to get the UK "less united"...

LT thinks tatcher was a great example; The UK under her rule then did see strikes, riots, and terrorism. LT can repeat the stupidity of both tatcher and bojo...

"RIP Great Britain"...the rest of the west not in a much better shape...

LT-like biden in the US have two main jobs they (will) fail to do;

-Unite the country

-Restore trust in politics

It is a major worry most western countries end up with clowns and lunatics ru(i/n)ning it...

Jimmy Dore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkEOyfcoYMM or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkEOyfcoYMM ;

The U.K. has a new Prime Minister and her name is Liz Truss. A member of the Conservative Party, Truss replaces the deposed Boris Johnson but, as a fellow Conservative, promises to perpetuate Johnson’s right-wing policies on issues like police, warmongering and energy. In fact, when asked about her “feelings” surrounding the possibility of nuclear war, Truss insisted that she’s ready to  push the button and rain down cataclysmic destruction on the entire planet. Jimmy and America’s comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the new British PM’s cavalier attitude toward effecting global thermonuclear devastation.

Can you be cynical enough on UK politics ? will bojo-replace truss ? Will the UK population start a revolution to get elections ? Will Scotland, Northern Ireland tell "london" to "forget it"?

DJ New Labour-following tony blair mistakes-is not a real alternative for the conservative "club"....

the political chaos in the UK is just an example of western political collapse...politics totally derailed...kicking cans down the road for decades -not able to find solutions any longer...

(In NL if a political dissident had his own party his party would get 1-in-6 votes...become the largest party...In Germany AfD-Alternative for Deutschland-16% of votes if there were elections now...may get banned for being "extreme right wing"...In France strikes may escalate to "wide spread protests" ending macron...).

DJ-If I lived in the US I would have no idea who to vote for...totally lost trust in politics...
