Did the US attack Nordstream 1 and 2 ?

The USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) was near Bornholm when explosions caused major leaks in gaslines between Germany and Russia...https://diaspora.psyco.fr/posts/9062384 or https://diaspora.psyco.fr/posts/9062384

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/the-war-on-germany-just-entered-its-hot-phase.html or https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/the-war-on-germany-just-entered-its-hot-phase.html biden stated the US would stop gas flowing to Germany if Russia invaded Ukraine....

"If Russia invades, that means tanks or troops crossing the -- the border of Ukraine again, then there will be -- there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2," Biden said during the press conference with Scholz, who did not go as far as Biden, but insisted the U.S. and Germany remain "absolutely united."

DJ...Die Linke (left wing) and AfD (right wing) (and increasing trade unions, industry) wanted the gas links to be reopened...

https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/damage-nord-stream-pipelines-unprecedented-may-have-been-sabotaged or https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/damage-nord-stream-pipelines-unprecedented-may-have-been-sabotaged

DJ-The US provoked war in Ukraine is running out of support in Europe...If the US attacks our gaslines the US may "no longer be welcomed by many" in Europe...

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-urgent-russian-gas-pipelines-to-germany-blown-up or https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-urgent-russian-gas-pipelines-to-germany-blown-up

If this is true, it was almost certainly sabotage perpetrated by the US. And it could very well be interpreted by the Russians as an act of war.

Most likely because they knew the Germans were thinking long and hard about opening the line before winter sets in.

Want clear indication this was U.S. sabotage?   Listen to Joe Biden from July 2, 2022 saying "There will be no Nordstream 2, we will bring an end to it."

Again, most Europeans are totally fed up by US wars...bringing Europe first a refugee-crisis, now economic destruction...The European political elite may still stick to the "Atlantic idea"...Sweden, Italy are clear indicators most Europeans are not...In France a coalition from right-and left of macron could have ended macron...scholtz-in Germany is now facing a major crisis...https://www.dw.com/en/mysterious-leaks-hit-nord-stream-pipelines-linking-russia-and-germany/a-63251217 or https://www.dw.com/en/mysterious-leaks-hit-nord-stream-pipelines-linking-russia-and-germany/a-63251217

Both of the pipelines were built to carry natural gas from Russia to Europe, although the Nord Stream 2 pipeline was never activated.

German officials have not yet provided any information on the possible cause of the damage. However, Berlin's Tagesspiegel newspaper cited German security circles saying that sabotage was strongly suspected. "Our imagination no longer allows for a scenario in which this is not a targeted attack," the newspaper quoted its source as saying.

DJ, I expect a "German (public) reaction"

https://southfront.org/us-ships-suspected-of-sabotage-attack-on-nord-stream-pipelines/ or https://southfront.org/us-ships-suspected-of-sabotage-attack-on-nord-stream-pipelines/ ;

Der Tagesspiegel reported, citing sources related to the investigation of the incidents, that the cause of the incident could be sabotage.

“We cannot imagine a scenario that is not a targeted sabotage,” the publication quotes one of the participants in the investigation, which is being conducted by the federal authorities.

It is reasonably suspected that the pipeline was blown up by the special services of the United States in order to finally stop the gas supplies to Germany from Russia.

I wonder if the Russians blew it up? It's too coincidental that 3 explosions would happen all at the same time.

So how did they do it? Well I was thinking about this and if I were a Russian and wanting to blow up that pipeline, I would put a small bomb in the pipe with a tracker on it, or a timer, and then wait for it to get to my desired location and then detonate. Afterall, a pipeline offers the perfect delivery mechanism.

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

It is clear someone did attack those pipelines...there is a lot of blame-game...Another point is who will blame who...mainstream will deny the US could have done it...but both left and right of "mainstream" know for certain the US must have done it...(DJ, and others could be playing with it...).

Timing-there may have been a Saudi peace initiative-possibly backed by the Minsk-countries (France, Germany) and the "referendum" with the pro-Russian vote-as expected-winning...Maybe there are talks with "some groups" in Ukraine...no longer with zelensky...

The US may have to prove it played no role...but even that may not convince all...

-"Ian" left Cuba without power-is a major risk to Florida. Wind up to 250 km/h, extreme rain will result in flooding. Waterborne diseases, refugees spreading disease, waste water problems may be longer term issues.

DJ-One of my questions is how many (major) hurricanes the US can deal with ?  NL would be very severely hit if a major hurricane managed to reach us. The chance for that still small but it is increasing...Of course a (Fukushima like) nuclear disaster is major...but also destruction of large parts of infrastructure ((rail)roads, power/water, cable, buildings (hospitals, schools etc.) all gone could be major...Chemical (biological) waste is a nightmare....

The most deathly bombardment Japan had in 1945 was the fire bombing of Tokyo, NOT the Hirosjima, Nagasaki nuclear attacks (in my view to stop the Soviet Union). A non-nuclear major disaster still can be worse then a nuclear one...

-On pipelines in Europe; https://www.baltic-pipe.eu/ or https://www.baltic-pipe.eu/ a Norway-Poland gas pipeline opened yesterday. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_Pipe or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_Pipe

Nordstream https://thesaker.is/sitrep-on-nord-stream-1-and-2-gas-pipelines/ or https://thesaker.is/sitrep-on-nord-stream-1-and-2-gas-pipelines/ Sweden/Denmark (DK) claim 100 kilo of explosives needed to cause such damage. DJ-The explosions were in a NATO controlled part of the Baltic Sea...A possible scenario-not involving explosives-may be over pressure. Russia claimed there were turbine problems (Siemens in Canada had to repare turbines)...So could it be technical ?

Still some will put blame-for political reasons-on "a party"...That can get its own dynamics...certainly with a major economic crisis developing in Europe.

-Italy https://southfront.org/no-russian-shadow-over-italy-con-giorgia-meloni-rome-confirms-itself-as-washingtons-most-faithful-ally/ or https://southfront.org/no-russian-shadow-over-italy-con-giorgia-meloni-rome-confirms-itself-as-washingtons-most-faithful-ally/ ;

Written by Piero Messina

They are wrong in Kremlin if anyone thinks that Italy will become the EU’s weak link vis-à-vis Russia. The center-right coalition won in the elections on 25 September. A success far beyond the expectations of Giorgia Meloni, the right-wing passionate who grew up in the myth of “good” fascism and Tolkien as a natural leader. The center-right that is about to govern Italy is made up of three different political groups. The real winner of the dispute is the “Fratelli d’Italia”, the party founded a little over ten years ago by Giorgia Meloni, Ignazio La Russa and Guido Crosetto. Heirs of the post-fascist tradition, the women and men led by Meloni have always been on the margins of society. They are the heirs of the tradition of the Italian Social Movement, the party that was liquidated in the mid-nineties after Mussolini’s rejection of nostalgia.

Longside Meloni there will be Matteo Salvini of the Lega and Silvio Berlusconi, senior leader of Forza Italia. Only Salvini, in the recent past, has claimed a different position with respect to Russia, calling for the abolition of sanctions as they damage the Italian economy. Even Berlusconi – an old friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, when the Russian president was praised by the Western chancelleries – sometimes seems to regret that past. A few days before the elections, host of a talk show on the main Italian television channel, Berlusconi made Western diplomacy tremble, justifying the work of the Russian president: “The Russian troops had to enter and in a week replace the Zelenksy government with people for good and go back “. The concept of replacing Zelensky with “decent people” has infuriated Washington and Italy’s Western allies.

-

With such travel friends therefore, Giorgia Meloni had understood from the beginning of the electoral campaign the need to erase any Russian shadow on her past. Interview from British and US broadcasters, the next Italian prime minister has sworn allegiance to NATO, guaranteed support for sanctions against Russia and confirmed that Italy will remain at the forefront of supplying arms to the Kiev government. A nice disappointment for those who imagined a new course that was not flattened on the Atlantic line dogma. Moscow was not entirely wrong in imagining a change of course for the Italian government. Giorgia Meloni was already in government, in 2011, when the head of the Italian government was Silvio Berlusconi. At the helm of the Brothers of Italy for over ten years, from 2014 onwards Meloni had always contested sanctions against Russia and had stood out for an anti-euro and anti-Europe political line. Today everything has changed. Because, as an old Italian sage recalls, power wears out those who don’t have it. And after thirty years spent in opposition, Giorgia Meloni and her traveling companions want everything and they want it immediately. Even denying their past.

DJ, Again a worsening socio-economic situation is "moving mountains" in Europe...we have to learn wich way...

On the pipeline (Nordstream 1 and 2) story..lots of discussion https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/whodunnit-facts-related-to-the-sabotage-attack-on-the-nord-stream-pipelines.html or https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/whodunnit-facts-related-to-the-sabotage-attack-on-the-nord-stream-pipelines.html and https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/15-things-we-know-about-mysterious-explosions-severely-damaged-nord-stream-1-and-2 or https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/15-things-we-know-about-mysterious-explosions-severely-damaged-nord-stream-1-and-2 ...

So the idea is that explosions damaging 3 out of 4 pipelines would be in the interest of Ukraine...UK/US and Poland were against Russian-German trade...Alexander Mercouris/AM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ju2Ggsvjbg or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ju2Ggsvjbg doubr Poland would sabotage the pipelines-Poland is in between Germany and Russia/Belarus...not the best position...

AM also mentioning a "western investigation team" very likely will have the goal to put the blame on Russia...

DJ-Some good points against a claim the US/UK were behind sabotage; Germany gets even more in a corner...may be pressed more-with France, Saudi Arabia for talks with Russia...I do not think Russia blew up its multi billion dollar (multi-multi billion Ruble) pipelines on purpose...there were easier ways for them (on land) to do that kind of action...

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-another-gas-pipeline-blown-up or https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/covert-intel-another-gas-pipeline-blown-up A pipeline side link from a main pipeline from Russia to Romania-the side link goes to Crimea-has been blown up In Ukraine...https://liveuamap.com/en/2022/28-september-big-fire-reportedly-at-brylivka-of-kherson-region or https://liveuamap.com/en/2022/28-september-big-fire-reportedly-at-brylivka-of-kherson-region (unclear if it was in Russian or Ukraine held part).

DJ-So maybe the US and/or UK (with a Polish role) are trying to destroy Russian pipelines to Europe? While Europe is moving away from the US/UK hard line escalation strategy...sinking into a very major energy crisis...There is not yet enough capacity in ports for LNG (from where ever)...the Ukraine-NATO expansion-war did bring the EU between 7 and 10 million extra refugees (with sort of EU status-in a much better legal position then other refugees. Ukrainians are allowed to work in the EU-and most of them do want to work here. Other refugees are NOT allowed to wotk here-need to wait for a refugee status, integration programs (they have to pay for themselves), housing...taking a very long frustrating, demotivating time).

So pushing the EU (and UK) deeper into an energy crisis is NOT increasing support in the EU (or UK) for "more war(s)"...Since Europe has an electricity network we may get power from Hungary, Türkiye-still using Russian imported energy, Russia is getting very high prices for less energy export (St. Petersburg area has more people then all of Finland...If I am correct Finland did get a lot of electricity from Russia...they are very anti Russian but may run out of alternatives...).

-No links; I believe it was "Redacted"; In the four Ukraine regions now joining Russia the older generation may have still some "(n)ostalgia" (ost=east in German) ...the 40+ age groups have memories of the Soviet Union...DJ-In those four regions pro-Ukraine citizens did flee...younger men are in the army...so the "referenda" are not very "strong points"...

But also in Russia itself older generations-and most outside major cities-are very likely pro-Putin...Younger generations do get western social media etc. Independent polls indicate Putin may have support of 80%+ of the Russian population...Even if you would take it with "grains of salt" biden, macron, truss, scholtz, rutte are running out of public support...

-Storms;

"Noru" is moving into norther Thailand via Vietnam...https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/#18W or https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/#18W  Of course in the US-Florida is hit very hard by "Ian" with waves 3meter +, lots of wind and rain..."Ian" soon will be above warm Atlantic waters and then return over the US South Carolina-moving north till the weekend...https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/035748.shtml?ero#contents or https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/035748.shtml?ero#contents may even influence D.C. weather...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Atlantic_hurricane_season or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Atlantic_hurricane_season there were much more storms expected this year...Also Europe -with warm Atlantic waters- is running an increased risk of hurricane strong storms..."Fiona" is now moving in Arctic waters...south of Iceland, east of Greenland pumping warm water/air north...https://www.ventusky.com/?p=60.1;-38.2;4&l=temperature-2m or https://www.ventusky.com/?p=60.1;-38.2;4&l=temperature-2m ....

Wind erosion, blowing snow away, eroding ice, has been a factor in Antarctica...open rock does not reflect sun-heat...Warm ocean water, rain does increase the speed with wich glaciers move into the Oceans...(with large pieces of ice dropping into the ocean causing mini-tsunami's).

-Wars;

Redacted mentioned a Russian/Chinese navy drill close to Alaska ? If Russia gets the idea pipelines are under attack it may secure the energy flow into India, China...(Caspian Sea Russia-Iran-India route is also a weak spot). Russia is shifting its energy-deals towards Asia...away from Europe...but those energy deals are major, strategic...Russia-Iran-China will NOT accept any attacks on them...If Russia believes "a western power" is attacking Russian pipelines...Russia-Iran-China are able to react...lots of (Trans Atlantic) "lines of communication"  (US-UK) are impossible to be fully protected...

Russia -I think-may go for high speed integration of the four Ukraine regions "that voted for inclusion into Russia". Regular Russian Army will release more pro-Russian fighters to frontlines...Belarus is believed to be preparing (like in february) for major Russian train/road transports...Military Summary claimed "Ukraine working on nuclear weapons" ???? Ukraine is in a major offensive in NE Ukraine...gaining limited ground on very high costs (Ukraine losses per day now over 1500 soldiers ???)

DJ-I am running out of time to follow all developments...Trying to give my view, opinion...proberbly even "intel" may be overrun...

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

NL has the best tax evasion system in the world...) Now the same Dutch TV show claims Russia belongs to NL-starting a referendum...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVv3ofeBnME or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVv3ofeBnMEPutin announces partial mobilisation and a referendum in Ukraine. Setting up referendums in other countries, that’s something we can do too.

DJ; some reactions; As a Russian from Saint Petersburg I am definitely down for this. After all, Dutch people helped us build our river channels so that we won't be flooded every summer. And, what is more, Peter the Great was trying to build "New Amsterdam" in Russia, and I strongly believe that after the fact that Brits stole your new Amsterdam and renamed it, New York, you gotta fight for at least one of New Amsterdam's:) Make Netherlands great again :))

-

As a Russian citizen I would definitely vote "yes" just tell me where to put my signature,  time to restore the justice 😂

DJ...Humor as a weapon...but https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Russia#Origin or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Russia#Origin

Two accounts of the flag's origin connect it to the tricolour used by the Dutch Republic (the flag of the Netherlands).[1][2]

The earliest mention of the flag occurs during the reign of Alexis I, in 1668, and is related to the construction of the first Russian naval ship, the frigate Oryol. According to one source, the ship's Dutch lead engineer Butler faced the need for the flag, and issued a request to the Boyar Duma, to "ask His Royal Majesty as to which (as is the custom among other nations) flag shall be raised on the ship". The official response merely indicated that, as such issue is as yet unprecedented, even though the land forces do use (apparently different) flags, the tsar ordered that his (Butler's) opinion be sought about the matter, asking specifically as to the custom existing in his country.[3]

A different account traces the origins of the Russian flag to tsar Peter the Great's visits to Arkhangelsk in 1693 and 1694. Peter was keenly interested in shipbuilding in the European style, different from the barges ordinarily used in Russia at the time. In 1693, Peter had ordered a Dutch-built frigate from Amsterdam. In 1694 when it arrived, the Dutch red, white, and blue banner flew from its stern.[4] Peter decided to model Russia's naval flag after that banner by assigning meaning and reordering the colours.

The Dutch flag book of 1695 by Carel Allard,[5] printed only a year after Peter's trip to Western Europe, describes the tricolour with a double-headed eagle bearing a shield on its breast and wearing a golden crown over both of its heads.

there are old NL-Russian links...

-On the (now four) leaks in Nordstream pipelines (two in the Swedish, other two in Danish economic zone-but international waters cnn-us propaganda outlet made claims or "Russian ships nearby"...The value of the gas stored in the pipelines may be 800 million US$...building those pipelines did cost billions...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ju2Ggsvjbg or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ju2Ggsvjbg Alexander Mercouris (AM) trying to make sense...Only the US could "do this" he claims...(DJ-I do not rule out a UK-Polish role...however both do get very seriously damaged by it...) AM is mentioning the biden strategy -calling it "paranoid"...since 2021...

DJ-Even the UK needs Russian oil and gas...They may not buy it from Russia themselves-but if Russia stopped delivery to EU members Europe its own energy production and other imports simply can NOT replace the Russian import...(NL has only limited direct Russian imports since we have oil/gas a.o. from the Northsea...)

https://southfront.org/eric-zuesse-u-s-government-likely-perpetrated-biggest-ever-catastrophic-global-warming-event/ or https://southfront.org/eric-zuesse-u-s-government-likely-perpetrated-biggest-ever-catastrophic-global-warming-event/

Eric Zuesse

On September 28th, the AP headlined “Record methane leak flows from damaged Baltic Sea pipelines” and reported that “Methane leaking from the damaged Nord Stream pipelines is likely to be the biggest burst of the potent greenhouse gas on record, by far. … Andrew Baxter, a chemical engineer who formerly worked in the offshore oil and gas industry, and is now at the environmental group EDF …  said, ‘It’s catastrophic for the climate.’” The article pointed out that methane “is 82.5 times more potent than carbon dioxide at absorbing the sun’s heat and warming the Earth.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin had been aiming ultimately (and maybe soon) to get the gas to Europe flowing again, and said to EU nations on September 16th, “Just lift the sanctions on Nord Stream 2, which is 55 billion cubic metres of gas per year, just push the button and everything will get going.”

Here is what U.S. President Joe Biden had already promised about that on February 7th:

If Germany — if Russia invades — that means tanks or troops crossing the — the border of Ukraine again — then there will be — we — there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2.  We will bring an end to it.

Q    But how will you — how will you do that exactly, since the project and control of the project is within Germany’s control?

PRESIDENT BIDEN:  We will — I promise you, we’ll be able to do it.

He had promised to cause permanently the end of Nord Stream if Russia invaded, which it did on February 24th. He fulfilled on that promise on September 27th.

-

It is reasonably suspected that the pipeline was blown up by the special services of the United States in order to finally stop the gas supplies to Germany from Russia.

On September 27, a detachment of warships led by the US amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge reported on the completion of their tasks in the area of the alleged sabotage in the Baltic Sea and headed for the North Sea.

Since the beginning of September, suspicious activity by anti-submarine helicopters of the US Navy has been observed in the area. In the last few days, reconnaissance activities of NATO aircraft have significantly intensified in the Baltic Sea area. In particular, a US Boeing E-3 Sentry reconnaissance aircraft was on constant patrol over the Baltic States, and a US Joint STARS was spotted over Germany and Poland.

https://www.dw.com/en/russia-ukraine-updates-sweden-finds-fourth-nord-stream-gas-leak/a-63275377 or https://www.dw.com/en/russia-ukraine-updates-sweden-finds-fourth-nord-stream-gas-leak/a-63275377

A fourth leak has been found in the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea, the Swedish Coast Guard said on Thursday.

"There are two leaks on the Swedish side and two leaks on the Danish side," a Swedish Coast Guard official told reporters.

The fourth leak was on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, close by a larger hole found on the neighboring Nord Stream 1, the official said.

The report came after three leaks in the pipelines were found near the Danish island of Bornholm following several explosions that were recorded by seismologists.

European Union authorities suspect the damage was deliberate sabotage amid the tensions caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the bloc has vowed a "robust" response to any attempt to disrupt its energy infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Russia's Foreign Ministry said leaks from the Nord Stream pipelines have occurred in an economic sea zone of Denmark and Sweden, and those countries are "completely controlled" by US intelligence agencies.

Redacted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kDZNqOqiXk or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kDZNqOqiXk ; The destruction of the Nord Stream Pipeline reads like a Whodunit novel only real lives are at stake. Affordable energy from energy will not be an option for Germany this winter due to this. Russia and Germany want answers and many signs point to U.S. sabotage. This is eco terrorism. What is happening!?

with some "western media" with a picture of Putin in a submarine as "proof" Russia did blow up its own 12 billion US$ pipelines/gas storage...(this weekend gas flow will stop..methane release at level of Denmark in one year CO2 production/polution...)

DJ-Maybe a point; There are lots of pipelines linking Russia with the EU...Now Nordstream is destroyed Europe has NO ALTERNATIVE !!!! then pushing for an end-NOW-of the Ukraine war so pipelines via Ukraine can replace Nordstream-pipelins the US most likely with underwater drones blew up....

There were rumours of a Riyad-Saudi Arabia meeting between Ukraine military and Russian diplomats...DJ-Those Ukraine military may NOT represent the zelensky puppet regime...

German/EU industry may open "contacts" with Russia to survive...passing by governments unwilling to work for their country....

"F..k the EU" may backfire...

The sabotage of the Nord Stream (NS) and Nord Stream 2 (NS2) pipelines in the Baltic Sea has ominously propelled ‘Disaster Capitalism’ to a whole new, toxic level.

This episode of Hybrid Industrial/Commercial War, in the form of a terror attack against energy infrastructure in international waters signals the absolute collapse of international law, drowned by a “our way or the highway”, “rules-based”, order.

The attack on both pipelines consisted of multiple explosive charges detonated in separate branches close to the Danish island of Bornholm, but in international waters.

That was a sophisticated operation, carried out in stealth in the shallow depth of the Danish straits. That would in principle rule out submarines (ships entering the Baltic are limited to a draught of 15 meters). As for prospective “invisible” vessels, these could only loiter around with permission from Copenhagen – as the waters around Borholm are crammed with sensors, reflecting fear of incursion by Russian submarines.

All the devils are here

Now it’s painfully clear the imperial velvet gloves are off when it comes to the vassals. EU independence: verboten. Cooperation with China: verboten. Independent trade connectivity with Asia: verboten. The only place for the EU is to be economically subjugated to the US: a tawdry remix of 1945-1955. With a perverse neoliberal twist: we will own your industrial capacity, and you will have nothing.

The sabotage of NS and NS2 is inbuilt in the imperial wet dream of breaking up the Eurasian land mass into a thousand pieces to prevent a trans-Eurasia consolidation between Germany (representing the EU), Russia and China: $50 trillion in GDP, based on purchasing power parity (PPP) compared to the US’s $20 trillion.

We must go back to Mackinder: control of the Eurasian land mass constitutes control of the world. American elites and their Trojan Horses across Europe will do whatever it takes not to give up their control.

“American elites” in this context encompass the deranged, Straussian neo-con-infested “intel community” and the Big Energy, Big Pharma and Big Finance that pays them and who profits not only from the Deep State’s Forever War approach but also wants to make a killing out of the Davos-concocted Great Reset.

The Raging Twenties started with a murder – of Gen Soleimani. Blowing up pipelines is part of the sequel. There will be a highway to hell all the way to 2030. Yet to borrow from Shakespeare, hell is definitely empty, and all the (Atlanticist) devils are here.

Pepe Escobar is an independent geopolitical analyst and author. His latest book is Raging Twenties. He’s been politically canceled from Facebook and Twitter. Follow him on Telegram.

DJ...The only "party" in an illusion of winning something by blowing up European energy links is the US...IF a lot of the European "economic" elite start seeing it this way there could be a break in relations between Europe and the US...and that is big...

Based on all that rubbish from sources that have been 90% wrong since the start of russia's illegal invasion, it looks like russia is crumbling faster than most thought. With battle field defeats growing, the mobilization disaster, sham referendums that no one in the world recognizes, and internal turmoil taking it's toll, Putin is now backed into a corner. His only option now is to push the button, which will lead to his death. And as predicted the vultures feeding off the rotten carcass, TIP, PRIC and DICK will only increase the feeding frenzy. Even are own delusional poster has now resorted to claiming funny memes are reality, turn off your computer son, your done....

According to SPIEGEL information, it was calculated that explosive devices with an effect comparable to that of 500 kilograms of TNT must have been used to destroy the tubes. The seismic signals registered by various measuring stations were also included in the estimate.

The previously unknown estimates support the assumption that only a state actor can be behind the action. So far, the federal government has held back with speculation about the background to the interruption of the pipelines.

Reuters quoted NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg on Thursday, saying attacks against EU critical infrastructure would be met with a "determined response." He called the acts "sabotage. "

"All currently available information indicates that this is the result of deliberate, reckless, and irresponsible acts of sabotage.

"We, as Allies, have committed to prepare for, deter and defend against the coercive use of energy and other hybrid tactics by state and non-state actors. Any deliberate attack against Allies' critical infrastructure would be met with a united and determined response," a statement from the North Atlantic Council (NATO) read.

On Wednesday President Joe Biden approved $1.1 billion more in military aid for Ukraine, marking the 22nd such installment, and as the US is warning Russia against following through with annexation of four territories which wrapped a 5-day referendum on joining the Russian Federation.

According to the White House Press Secretary, this latest defense package consists of "18 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS, as well as munitions for those systems, 150 armored multipurpose vehicles, 150 tactical vehicles to tow weapons, 40 trucks and 80 trailers to transport heavy equipment, two radars for unmanned aerial systems, 20 multi-mission radars as well as secure communication systems and body armor."

Conclusion

In 1939, quite infamously, Winston Churchill expressed his extraordinary ethnocentric ignorance by calling Russia ‘a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma’. Like many ignorant people, he was of course talking about himself. When you cannot be bothered to understand someone else’s viewpoint, just call it ‘a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma’. You will then have successfully defined yourself as a blinkered and selfish narcissist. The only thing is, when you depend on that someone else for vital gas, oil, fertiliser, wheat, paper, titanium etc, maybe you really should after all make an effort to understand their viewpoint. Otherwise, they will definitely consider your death-wish, the totally suicidal behaviour of your American Roulette as, ‘a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma’.

Dmitriy Peskov, official Spokesman for the Kremlin in Moscow, stated publicly just minutes ago: "Tomorrow at 15:00 agreements on the entry of new territories into Russia will be signed. They will be signed with all 4 territories where referendums were held. President Vladimir Putin will give a voluminous speech tomorrow."

UNVERIFIED information from non-Kremlin sources about the Putin speech claim that he will ALLEGEDLY tell the world:

. . . the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipelines radically changes the geopolitical alignment. The obvious military sabotage of Western intelligence services against Russia, forces the Russia to take retaliatory measures.

Europe is a military ally of Ukraine. Ammunition, howitzers, heavy equipment, tanks, and even combat aircraft, are coming to Ukraine from the EU every day! Despite this, Russia continues to pump gas there, heating the homes of Europeans and ensuring the work of virtually the entire economy, and at this time European shells are bombing Donetsk. After the annexation of new territories, this will come to an end!

Russia will ALLEGEDLY also announce that:

. . . if the EU does not stop military support for Ukraine within 48 hours, there will be an instant shutdown of the gas supply to 100% of European consumers. After that, the Ukrainian Gas Transfer System (GTS) will be destroyed and the supply of oil and gas through the territory of Belarus will be turned off.

But why have incidents that are "in no-one's interest" happened again and again? This deserves serious consideration by the international community.

The ill-fated destiny of Nord Stream 2 pipeline itself explains quite a few issues. The major, mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation program between Russia and the EU, has met firm opposition from the US since day one. From repeated verbal threats to many rounds of sanctions, the US has shown its firm stance - it won't stop until it messes up the Nord Stream 2.

After the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Nord Stream 2, a cooperation project that is actually beneficial to European people's livelihood, was on the verge of bankruptcy under the multiple pressure of hegemonism, geopolitical calculations, and security dilemmas. This deliberate sabotage has snuffed out the possibility of its revival.

CNN —

The Biden administration imposed sanctions Thursday on multiple entities involved in evading sanctions on Iranian oil and petrochemicals, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced in a statement.

The new sanctions come as efforts to restore the Iran nuclear deal have once again stalled, and as the United States remains “concerned about a wide range of Iranian policies, from their nuclear program, to abuses perpetrated against their own people, to supporting Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine with drones and military training, and destabilizing activities across the region,” as the Treasury Department said in a separate statement.

“As Iran continues to accelerate its nuclear program in violation of the JCPOA, we will continue to accelerate our enforcement of sanctions on Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical sales under authorities that would be removed under the JCPOA,” Blinken said, using the acronym for the formal name of the nuclear deal: the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

“These enforcement actions will continue on a regular basis, with an aim to severely restrict Iran’s oil and petrochemical exports,” he said. “Anyone involved in facilitating these illegal sales and transactions should cease and desist immediately if they wish to avoid U.S. sanctions.”

Thursday’s State Department sanctions hit China-based “Zhonggu Storage and Transportation Co. Ltd., which operates a commercial crude oil storage facility for Iranian petroleum that provides a vital conduit for the Iranian petroleum trade, as well as WS Shipping Co. Ltd., the ship manager for a vessel that has transported Iranian petroleum products,” Blinken said.

The Treasury Department also targeted other entities based in Hong Kong, Iran, India, and the United Arab Emirates.

The department noted that the sanctions “are reversible in the event of Iran’s return to JCPOA compliance.”

However, US and European officials have voiced pessimism over the prospects of a return to the deal, from which the US withdrew in 2018. Iran has increasingly breached its commitments under the agreement and grown its nuclear program.

On Sunday, Blinken told CBS’ “60 Minutes” that he does not “see any prospects in the very near term” to bring about a return to the Iran nuclear deal.

“Iran has continued to try to add extraneous issues to the negotiation that we’re simply not going to say yes to,” he said.

“We will not accept a bad deal, the response that they’ve given to the last proposals put forward by our European partners have been a very significant step backwards,” Blinken said.

In addition to the nuclear deal related sanctions, last week, the administration sanctioned Iran’s Morality Policy following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in their custody.

In a statement, the US Treasury Department said it was sanctioning the morality police “for abuse and violence against Iranian women and the violation of the rights of peaceful Iranian protestors.”

Of course the biden-war against 'the rest" , the NATO expansion war in Ukraine did bring hyperinflation...https://nltimes.nl/2022/09/30/ministers-call-171-inflation-rate-terrible-extreme or https://nltimes.nl/2022/09/30/ministers-call-171-inflation-rate-terrible-extreme ...printing more dollars, euro's, pounds, yen only will make matters worse..increase inflation...

The US attacks on Nordstream pipelines did increase European vulnerability in energy needs further...The only way out of this crisis left is European countries going for (indirect) talks with Russia...There are still lots of other pipelines able to transport Russian oil and gas to Europe (EU and UK...the UK is NOT out of the European energy system...).

There are more stories of high Ukraine military meeting with Russian military/diplomats...the western puppet zelensky has no support left in Ukraine...Most "western leaders" are out of support in their own countries...https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/liz-truss-is-already-the-bad-prime-minister-everyone-expected-her-to-be.html or https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/liz-truss-is-already-the-bad-prime-minister-everyone-expected-her-to-be.html

Still those "western leaders" now try to sell the lie of Russia attacking their own pipelines...so "NATO has to react"...Will NATO now start talks of including Ukraine ? It would be a complete show of stupidity and insanity....

And almost as quickly the finger-pointing began, with many in the West alleging that Russia had intentionally damaged its own pipeline while others claimed that a more logical explanation would pin the blame on the U.S., likely acting to eliminate any possibility that European countries will revert to relying on Russia as a source of gas. Jimmy and his panel of The Dive’s Jackson Hinkle and America’s comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the competing theories and possible motives behind the Nordstream attacks.

DJ...Let me be clear; the picture I get from Moscow/Putin remind me more and more of stalin...Iran still is not a "nice country" even with the western backed shah dictatorship being replaced by religious dictatorship...China did make progress in its fight against poverty...managed to keep CoViD limited...but is NOT a "free country"....

The outcome of were "western leaders" did bring us is weakening democracy...Alexander Mercouris named the referendum days as "quiet for the storm" ...so now brace for the storm...Maybe some "secret talks" can limit the damage....

Powerful voices are blaming Russia.  According to the Washington Post, which frequently serves as an outlet for the Intelligence Community:

Five European officials with direct knowledge of security discussions said there was a widespread assumption that Russia was behind the incident. Only Russia had the motivation, the submersible equipment and the capability, several of them said, though they cautioned that they did not yet have direct evidence of Russia's involvement.

"No one on the European side of the ocean is thinking this is anything other than Russian sabotage," said a senior European environmental official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal thinking about the leak.

One official said it might have been a message to NATO: "We are close." Another said that it could be a threat to other, non-Russian energy infrastructure, since so many pipelines crisscross the Baltic Sea, including the one inaugurated Tuesday. A third noted that crucial internet data cables lie along the bottom of the sea, and there have been long-standing concerns that Russia has a submersible program that could cut them, causing communications chaos around the world.

But why would Russia want to preclude its ability to use the pipelines for leverage, threatening to further reduce — or increase — its delivery of natural gas?  Russia could always cut deliveries without damaging the pipeline, after all, and maintain the ability to reward behavior it wants by increasing the delivery of gas.  The explosions remove that lever from Putin's grasp.

Turkey has rejected Russia’s annexation of Ukraine on Saturday, calling the decision a “grave violation” of international law.

The foreign ministry said it had not recognised Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, adding that it reject’s Russia’s decision to annex Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, Reuters reports.

This decision, which constitutes a grave violation of the established principles of international law, cannot be accepted. We reiterate our support to the resolution of this war, the severity of which keeps growing, based on a just peace that will be reached through negotiations.

The Ministry of Defence said Russia’s expansion strategy has resulted in “killing civilians it now claims are its own citizens.”

The latest intelligence update published Saturday morning, comes after Putin signed annexation agreements across four occupied regions in Ukraine, marking the largest forcible takeover of territory in Europe since the second world war.

The MoD said Russia is expending “strategically valuable military assets” in attempts to gain tactical advantage. It added, Russia “almost certainly” struck a convoy outside the town of Zaporizhzhia on Friday, where local media reported 25 civilians killed, and more than 50 injured.

The kill numbers should rise exponentially in the coming days....

Ukraine has encircled Russia’s forces around a bastion that is critical for Moscow at the eastern town of Lyman, in an operation that is still under way, a Ukrainian military spokesperson said on Saturday.

Russia’s forces at Lyman totalled around 5,000 to 5,500 soldiers, but the number of encircled troops may have fallen because of casualties and some soldiers trying to break out of the encirclement, said Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesperson for Ukraine’s eastern forces, according to Reuters.

ksc,

I would love it if you could come up with any proof the US was NOT behind attacks on Nordstream...I admit-there is NO direct proof, however all indirect proof points to the US...The US had both motives and means (under water drones able to place very heavy mines...only a few countries are able to do that...Maybe even the UK, France do NOT have under-water-drones able to handle that heavy mines...).

Valves make the over-pressure "Russia did it" scenario very unlikely...Western propaganda (billionaire owned cnn, reuters...in fact most media are owned by the military industrial complex; news-for-sale...) is not spreading on a large scale "Russia did it" on North/Nord-stream because it simply makes no sense...

There may be some discussion on "did European partners" know of the US attack...very likely (like the US getting out of Afghanistan in 2021) the answer is NO...

European politicians-for-sale now find themselves in an impossible position...The public simply do no longer go for "blame Putin"....So a lot of those leaders need to find a way out (to survive...literally...). Printing extra tens-of-billions only will increase risk of hyperinflation...

The European economy is collapsing due to high energy costs...you simply can not make any profits with energy costs this exreme. Within weeks this will affect super markets...running out of products...It is that bad in most of Europe...NL is "doing better" because of our ports, trade, limited Russian energy imports...but even NL is sinking into "very major problems" high speed....

Land-routes linking Russia with Europe can be repaired...Europe has NO other option than talks with Russia....

Increase of US-LNG is already at maximum port-capacity...LNG is another product then oil/gas via pipelines...

DJ-I would LOVE the EU/UK not being that dependent on Russian energy...France tried it with nuclear power-however Russia is also a main supplier of uranium...(also to the US...uranium is not sanctioned...). NL this summer doing even better then Spain in solar power is very welcome...Renewable energy is a major factor in several EU countries...but NOT (yet) enough to fully replace foreign (de facto Russian) imports...

Extremists do gain support by "main stream politics" sticking to "support Ukraine"....Redacted-another US source-had a link to German Auf1...a German TV station with AfD links...(right wing German party...).

There may be growing pressure in Germany-and other countries-to "declare war on the US" for attacks on Northstream...

In combinition with pandemics and climate disasters Europe is facing society-collapse...the US will be next...civil wars may become a real scenario...We have to get away from such insanity...

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

It's tough to find proof of something that didn't happen. We'll never know who did it, but the message has been sent to the party that didn't do it. Putin was going to shut those pipes down anyway so it's probably for the best that they are now gone forever. Hopefully we'll see some more russian pipes "rupture" in the future. As I said months ago, russia is nothing more than a cheap gas station...

ksc...The northstream explosions DID happen....as far as I know no one is claiming it as an accident any longer...

One of the outcomes of the sanctions on Russia is Russia did increase refinnary, so now Russia is producing more diesel, kerosine...It also has "high tech weapons", hypersonic...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sputnik_V_COVID-19_vaccine or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sputnik_V_COVID-19_vaccine made by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamaleya_Research_Institute_of_Epidemiology_and_Microbiology or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamaleya_Research_Institute_of_Epidemiology_and_Microbiology founded in 1891...czars still ruling Russia...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serfdom_in_Russia or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serfdom_in_Russia may be a factor in Russia still today...

DJ-Just like the "lab-leak" claim on CoViD, who was behind the northstream explosions is of "limited interest"...how to deal with it should be major...

-I expect power cuts in most of Europe...mass bankruptcy...social unrest...

-but also-with very high energy prices- more innovations...https://nedstack.com/en/newsroom or https://nedstack.com/en/newsroom

-There are lots of plans for more solar/wind power in NL...laws may increase speed for those projects often now facing protests from people living near it..

-One of the problems of fossil fuels is banks only see a limited future for them-so financing more LNG infrastructure, or increase fracking-may be limited...

-"hard style government" -more police-to enforce changes/limit protests...

I think "we" in Europe may survive being cut of from Russian energy...However (civil) wars, pandemics will get a lot worse...

Russia very likely will be able to replace the European energy market with the Asia/Africa market...Maybe Russia-Iran-China are not "the worst" dictatorships in the world (I think a.o. Saudi Arabia-royal family of 20,000 owned, North Korea are worse) but they-in my opinion are "dictatorships"...The outcome of this "west-rest conflict" is RIC-position is getting stronger...

Again-NOT making democracy stronger...

Russia is preparing to send in lots more military into Ukraine-first job no doubt will be to get control over the four regions now "new part of Russia" (they were Russian till Lenin decided to put it with a new formed Ukraine S.S.R. ). There is NO NATO unity on Ukraine joining NATO now...

Outlook is very dark...no doubt lots of "secret diplomacy" in lots of places (UN-New York, Riyad/Istanbul, China...) further escalation may even go against US idea's...

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

You posed this silly question, "come up with any proof the US was NOT behind attacks on Nordstream"

Like I said, we'll never know....

With the russian "mobilization, the kills will rise exponentially. There's some good stuff heading to Ukraine in the near future (or already there).

Ukraine received new rockets for HIMARS/M270- here we can see a pod of M30A1 guided rockets. M30A1 differs from previously seen M31A1/A2 by an alternative warhead with 182000 preformed spheroid steel/tungsten fragments and is designed to be used against soft targets.

ksc, YES...the "west" can keep sending more supplies/training to Ukraine...If you want to go for "Ukraine is winning" no doubt Russia will not be able to include four more oblasts/regions into Russia like they did with Crimea...

I think the US want to avoid an open US-Russia war...proberbly at ALL !!! costs...There is a limit in escalation scenario's...

"The west" could go for more sanctions on "the rest"....but I doubt if there is much support for sanctions on India...(economic growth expected to be 7,5% this year-in part because of Russia-India trade). OPEC+ countries-more or less-side with Russia...so if Europe wants alternatives for Russian energy they need some compromise with OPEC members...

IF The US led "west" would go for an all-out war against Russia (the rest will follow...) it may be a very short war...Even hard-line neo-con/neo-"liberals" may not want to go that far...

So-I hope-at some places "wise people" try to find a way out of this disaster...You can talk...or you can fight-then talk...In a global nuclear war "fighting is mass self destruction"...with no talks left...

The US trade with India dwarfs that of russias. I doubt anyone in the world would assist russia in a conflict with the best. russia has had to deal with other terrorist states to get a few drones and antiquated ammunition. Both Iran and N. Korea deny supplying these munitions. Do you know why? I do...

Samarkand: Trade turnover between India and Russia has soared nearly 120% so far this year, according to Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov.

“Our relations are actively developing, the trade has also increased significantly with supplies of Russian oil, coal and fertilizers increasing,” the Ushakov told journalists ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in the Uzbek city of Samarkand on September 15-16.

According to Ushakov, the two na ..

It is recalled that Trump in April called for Russia and Ukraine to “figure out” a solution, saying that the two countries should negotiate peace “now — not later — when everyone will be DEAD!”. That same month, a 2019 clip surfaced of Trump suggesting to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he “get together” with Putin to solve their “problem”. Trump even called Putin “smart” for supposedly playing President Joe Biden “like a drum.”

Although Trump’s offer to mediate a peace deal led to the usual Democrat accusation that he is a Russian asset, it is remembered that Russia annexed Crimea during the presidency of Barack Obama, and will now unify with Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye under Biden’s watch. Effectively, no internationally recognised Ukrainian territory unified with Russia during Trump’s presidency, thus mocking the claim that the former president is a Russian asset.

None-the-less, it is obvious that the Biden administration will not call upon Trump to find peace as there is a very evident goal of prolonging the war for as long as possible, something the Kiev regime is more than happy to do.

In addition, it was only announced on September 29 that the US economy shrank by 0.6% during the second quarter of the year, according to the latest gross domestic product estimate from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. This effectively means that the US is in recession.

Prolonged war in Ukraine, with no end in sight and an economy in decline, is making many Americans regret voting Trump out. It is for this reason that the Biden administration will never call upon Trump to overcome the Russian-Ukrainian impasse to find peace as it will essentially secure his re-election if he decides to run in 2024.

DJ...I am NOT a trump fan (Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard make more sense for me...) but -way things are going- I think trump may have a chance for a second presidency...(further dividing the US...).

"Prolonging the war" lol!

Propaganda outfits like southfront will spin everything from Putins twisted point of view. No one wants to prolong the war, the vast majority of the world wants Putin to take his battered troops and go home. Not one country in the UN voted in russias favor.

Trump has a far better chance of going to jail than ever becoming president again. Putins only chance is to divide NATO that's why his puppets are hard at work, it just isn't going to happen. russia's now insignificant in the world order as Putin is embarrassed almost daily now.

DJ,

Who are at present in the UNSC-security council ? https://www.un.org/securitycouncil/content/current-members or https://www.un.org/securitycouncil/content/current-members

PERMANENT AND NON-PERMANENT MEMBERS

The Council is composed of 15 Members:

Five permanent members: ChinaFranceRussian Federationthe United Kingdom, and the United States, and ten non-permanent members elected for two-year terms by the General Assembly (with end of term year):

DJ...Brazil, India, China, Gabon did not support a US motion against Russian annexation of more parts of Ukraine...Mexico did support it "because Mexico did loose a lot of their country because of annexation in the past" (DJ-By the US...)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzybH0RI80Q or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzybH0RI80Q Alexander Mercouris...(Military Summary, others)

-In Ukraine pro-Kiev forces did gain some ground in the north-east, very likely at very high costs.

-Lots of reports of (pro)Russian forces being positioned in/near Ukraine

-The 4 regions (Kherson, Zaparozije, Donetsk, Luhansk) may become formal part of Russia per october 4 (Duma has to accept the law on it..)

DJ-I expect Russian forces will move into the "new parts of Russia" after the formal annexation...A major goal will be to get all of the 4 regions under (pro)Russian control...The Donetsk/Luhansk (Peoples Republics) militia by then will become part of the Russian army...

-Weather may become an increasing factor in the Ukraine war...https://www.ventusky.com/?p=49.5;28.7;5&l=temperature-2m or https://www.ventusky.com/?p=49.5;28.7;5&l=temperature-2m may be usefull...

Alexander Mercouris (AM) also mentioning the economic "problems/collapse" in Europe...NL has a year-to-year inflation of 17,1% ...I am "old" but I never have seen inflition this high in NL...

There are already protests in the UK, France, Germany...Governments on the one hand increase interest rates to limit inflation-on the other hand print more money to compensate for that inflation...AM is correct that inflation-in the west-getting out of control may "decrease support" for the Ukraine-biden-war...

This inflation also does affect the way we can deal with pandemics, disease...Hospitals, healthcare face a major increase in costs...without much of an extra budget...with CoViD, Flu (H3N2), MPX cases "on the rise"...

-https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/turkey-builds-troops-northern-cyprus-rages-inexplicable-us-decision or https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/turkey-builds-troops-northern-cyprus-rages-inexplicable-us-decision The US did increase military spending to Greece, Cyprus...(both EU)...frustrating Türkiye...(and the Turkish "held" part of Cyprus...the EU failed to start a reunification proces there). Türkiye also has its own oil/gas plans in the East Mediterranean Sea...

DJ-There is a growing risk of Türkish military action...Some Greek Islands are very close to the Turkish mainland (like some Taiwan islands close to mainland China)...Erdogan can seek Russian support (there are also elections coming in Türkiye ?) for "expanding claims" in "the area"...

Of course both Greece and Türkiye are in NATO...Greece is orthodox christian-links with both Russian and Ukraine orthodoxy...

-Israel may still seek support for anti-Iran actions...a.o. in Syria.

-https://southfront.org/more-evidence-points-to-us-nato-sabotage-of-nord-stream/ or https://southfront.org/more-evidence-points-to-us-nato-sabotage-of-nord-stream/ more info on US underwater drones...

-AM link to https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202209/1276456.shtml or https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202209/1276456.shtml ;DJ, Does Europe has its own foreign policy ? Do European "politicians" help European interests ? NO !!! I am shocked by the UK "new"labour party (following war criminal tony blair) silencing of critical members...A lot of "left wing" parties acting like US slaves...(the German "greens" are destroying Germany...now even promoting coal...).

There is a very major political crisis in "the west"...outcome of unwillingness to go for diplomacy with Russia, Iran, China...outcome also of "fiat currency" ..kicking lots of cans down the road...NOT solving problems (like the Euro/€ problem...).

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Russian defeat in Lyman makes war ‘more difficult’ for Putin, says US

American military officer and 28th US Secretary of Defense

The US defence secretary Lloyd Austin has welcomed Ukraine’s capture of Lyman and said the taking of the former Russian stronghold makes the war “more difficult” for Putin.

Mr Austin told a news conference on Sunday he was “very encouraged” after Saturday’s success by Ukrainian military forces.

He noted that Lyman was positioned across supply lines that Russia has used to push its troops and materiel down to the south and to the west, as the Kremlin presses its more than seven-month-long invasion of Ukraine.

“Without those routes, it will be more difficult. So it presents a sort of a dilemma for the Russians going forward.”

Battlefield Update

Lyman

The first losses of the “Russian territory” –  Lyman quickly “withdrew” from the Russian Federation, followed by other settlements of Kharkiv, Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The Lyman group comprised five battalions.

The AF of Ukraine destroyed a lot of the enemy force and took enemy equipment and ammunition. In Zarichne, the reinforcements sent there to defend Lyman are in danger of encirclement. The tragedy of Lyman is entirely Putin’s fault. RU army should have withdrawn two days ago. 1500 lives were lost not to dampen the great signing day.

Svatove

UA quickly advances east of Kupyansk-Vuzlovy towards Svatove. The distance between the two is about 40 km.  Enemy defense is lacking. The situation is quickly unfolding. More news to report during Monday’s stream.

Belogorivka

UA expanded its positions across the Siversky Donets. Reminder: in the spring, two RU brigades were destroyed attempting to cross in the same area.

Bakhmut

Mostly private military companies attempt to advance. Overconcentration of enemy artillery noticeably slows down.

Kherson

The enemy suffers heavy losses. UA sources are yet to confirm the specific locations where enemy bases and ammunition depots were hit.

Crimea

Supposedly MiG 31, with ammunition, exploded on takeoff at the Crimean airbase in Belbek.

Reactions to Lyman defeat

To appoint the guilty is the leader’s privilege in the RU military-political power. Kadyrov and Prigozhin accused General Lapin, the General Staff of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. This signals that Putin no longer controls relationships between subjects of power.

The guilty – the state military – have been named by those who own private armies. This conflict undermines the state system of the Russian Federation. How will RU generals respond? Will private companies be thrown into the most difficult areas? Will we see some friendly fire?

Or UA fire directed with the “help” from some RU units?

How can the Russian Federation act in the event of the loss of recently annexed territories due to the collapse of fronts in different directions? RU mobilization weakens the army instead of fortifying it. The use of tactical nuclear weapons will bring down, first of all, the Russian army.

Mobilization

The UA AF may see a massive replenishment of RU mobilized units in mid-October. First, they will replenish understaffed units, but the situation is so drastic that they will also be thrown to defend separate directions. This will become a catastrophe for the RU army.

Panic and chaos

The RU Ministry of Defense confirms the withdrawal of “allied” troops from Lyman. The “allied” reference points to the level of chaos as these are now supposedly “RU territories,” and the allied troops are RU citizens.

Kadyrov, in his post, revealed the location of headquarters and General Lapin (Starobilsk). Chaos and panic in RU headquarters are growing. These disoriented, uncontrolled officers will lead the newly mobilized who exhibit an absolute lack of discipline, according to numerous videos.

Weapons

Christine Lambrecht, Germany’s Minister of Defense arrived in Odesa with an unannounced visit and promised to deliver IRIS-T air defense systems in the coming days to provide additional protection to Odesa, which is frequently attacked by Iranian drones.

Additional air defense systems are a good sign before the coming winter to prevent attacks on critical infrastructure. RU has greatly diminished the use of cruise missiles; the last three directed at Dnipro were shot down. RU now mostly uses S-300, S-400, and Iranian drones.

Accession to NATO

Ukraine’s accession to NATO doesn’t have to happen before the end of the war. It will be a hard and slow process as any process of joining an organization in western democratic states. Other countries went through the same procedures when joining NATO.

That said, Ukraine’s way of accession is special. First, de-facto integration with NATO is already deep: weapons supplies, exchange of intelligence information, training, etc. Second, the procedure for the rearmament of UA AF according to NATO standards is proceeding rapidly. Third, UA and the West pursue common interests and defend common values.

UA started the discussion in the West regarding its accession to NATO. Despite the long road ahead, UA received main messages of constant support from the USA, Canada, and Baltic states until the entire UA territory is restored. Other NATO members will make their decisions in time.

President Zelensky said that while UA is going through the application process, there must be other security guarantees outlined in the Kyiv security treaty. Among the guarantors are also non-NATO countries.

NATO went through dramatic evolutionary changes regarding Ukraine. The alliance needed time to be convinced that Putin is insane, he will not stop, and he declared war on NATO by threatening to use a nuclear weapon.

On February 28, NATO held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the situation in and around Ukraine, but UA was not even invited. NATO predicted UA will survive only a few days. Three months into the war, on May 15, in Ramstein, NATO decided to offer significant help to UA. On September 28, NATO said the doors to the alliance are open to UA.
