1:00am EST is when the Cease fire is to start....if you put on CNN or Fox they have a ticker counting down.  I also heard on Fox News that Syria has just put 30 tanks on Israel border as of tonight.....NOT something you do in a cease-fire situation.  I wonder what will they do when Israel turns their backs........

Iran is down to their last 30 days with regard to the deadline imposed by the U.S. which requires them to stop all nuc power testing.   Iran will not stop.

We keep hearing - no one is calling Iran and Siria on their part in all this.
I have a feeling they will be reined in soon enough.  We are...building
a case in a World forum.  We are a looming presence in the mid east,
I never thought to see this day in my lifetime, this is a crossroads.  I don't think we can go back now.  Think how many nuts have, will have nuks now- Korea, Iran, Pakistan (nuts could get access)  We either Momarize them or loose them I guess.

Albert, is oldasrocks gone for good? I hope not as he has been a valuable resource to me (and others I believe) and would miss his unique viewpoints and humor. Jo

Hi Jo, I have no idea about oldasrocks.   He's not banned in any way so if he decided to leave the forum, there is nothing that we can do about it.

Take care.

These other forums also use our smiley face icons.  They do not have our permission to do this.   Typical.

HotAir...
There are bad apples in every barrel! Even in line at the grocery store. We just have to keep doing what we can, even if it is just share info.

Lots of happenings here, new AF news. Been gone a few days, I was thinning junk in the garage and found my daughters old box of Pokemon cards & Poke stuff. She went Poke crazeee when she was 10! She played at a mall in Auburn WA (Wizards of the Coast) when they had the beta run to see if a league would take off. I never even thought about that stuff having $$$ value. I was giving the whole box away, but thank goodness the guy stopped & educated me! See...good, honest people still around.

We've literally got hundreds of those cards. I don't think she even remembers them, it was back in '99.

She's been at cheer camp so I had to hurry and "unload" a few! Evidently they ran a whole month's worth of cards with mistakes (no shadows?). Then kids ate them, moms threw them away, etc. Now they're rare. Unbelieveable!

I only told the one person, but now Poke people are coming out of the woodwork! I'll have to be clever and get rid of them slowly, don't want to flood the market!

If anyone out there has a Poke fanatic let me know...I'll send a few your way! I've got plenty. I guess kids, big and small, still play and collect Poke stuff?

Gotta go check out the news and catch up!

I have a ton of those cards....rare ones and such.  We decided to keep them in plastic and are in mint condition.  I am saving them for my son...maybe they will pay for his college education.  You may want to hold onto them, they will be worth alot one day.Wink

Rapture,
We only have cards from the first three sets in our box. She quit playing about then. We never intended them for collectibles. We just bought so many packs looking for the ones she wanted for playing in the league, if we were lucky one per pack! I'll go through them and maybe keep one of each.

This accidental-collectible thing happened to us once before. We used to go to this Italian restaurant, and they sold the beanie babies. I thought it was an odd place to sell toys. I bought my daughter one, a wiener dog, and she took it everywhere. The playground lady took it from her, said they weren't allowed at school, and sold it on eBay for over $100. I don't know how it was all dirty, smelly and worn, plus it was ugly! BTW, the playground monitor got in trouble. She had to pay us the money she got for the dog. People will buy anything!!
