Hello everyone. I am sorry I have been so busy with college and 3 kids that got the regular flu that I have not had time to check in too much. Can someone give me a run down as to what is going on? I would sift through all the posts, but I just do not have the time and I am now ill. Not to mention I have some many assignments that I have to hand in before tomorrow. Boy I can not wait until I graduate! I hope no one minds me jumping in and asking. I do want you to know that I miss you all.

There is a lot of activity in Iraq and Indonesia this past week. WHO has 2 teams in Iraq investigating an outbreak that has been reported as 12, 14 and 162 people?. There is a quarantine in effect although sketchy as to where and how big. They are still waiting on test results from 2 people from Iraq to determine if they had H2N1. These tests will confirm or not confirm H2H in Iraq. One team of 2 in Iraq is agricultural and then a team of 8. WHO stated that the virus is in the environment and that they are there to find where since some local poultry has tested negative.

Indonesia had 4 more people test positive for the virus, 2 have died.

Hong Kong stated that they are in a bird endemic.

WHO has stated that there have been 6 H2H transmissions and CDC just states that H2H has occured although rare. They both state that H2H has not spread past 1st hosts.

There are lots of stories with links that you can read later.

Oh and as usual WHO is dragging their feet to do any type of prevention at this point. But what's new?

You bet. I've pretty much lived on my laptop since last week.  I went to your web-site last night and really enjoyed it.

Thanks

Well I am embarrassed to say that I have not done anything with it in recent times and I need to update it ASAP. College and being sick has really cut into my already crazy life.

Thank you, Ella. It really helps to have a synopsis of the critical points.

Would it be possible to have this as an ongoing feature of this site?

Flu me once, shame on you......

I'll try but do you realize that traffic and postings on this site have increased like ten times since last week?

Look for my new post "Todays Wrap-up". I will try to post around 10 pm CST so you can look for it.
