I do have a suggestion for building a fire of any kind....Most of you will call this cheating...but hey...I'm a women and I like easy....

BernzoMatic TS4000T 019040 Trigger Start Cast Aluminum Torch Head   This thingy is so cool..$39.95 and cheaper...  It attaches to a Turbo Torch mapp gas cylynder...and man you can build I fire in just 3 minutes...no newspaper needed...Just a handful of kindling(small shaving of wood or small sticks).  Put the kindling on the bottom and before lighting put  logs on top of kindling...Crossing each log a different way....Light the kindling for about 10 seconds  and puff the kindling burns up lighting the larger logs...

There are different bernzomatics but this one is easy just turn the knob to on and press the silver button...It burns 3 inches of shooting fire.

The fire looks like this...If you can't see the picture click on the X....

Like a settlean torch...When you let go of button it shuts off...

I have bought replacement fuel tanks that are called Turbotorch Mapp gas.LENOX MAPP GAS TORCH KITThis is what the gas containers look like...I didn't buy the kit....

We use this for everything for the barbaque to the wood stove and of course buiding a campfire is a piece of cake...

Thanks for sharing, Happy.

This summer I learned a fire making trick.  Use dryer link placed inside of a toilet paper roll (after the toilet paper is gone) to act as a fire starter.  It works great and most people have the materials to make a zillion of them.  But I'm definitely going to buy a bernzomatic too!
