I would take it out of the boxes free the packs, then vac seal them. That is just me. That is how I do regular rice.

I froze all my rice and keep the boxes in a dry cool place...Mine is in my up stair closet.
Many people are putting there rice after they freeze the rice for 3 days (to kill egg larvae) in buckets with oxygen absorbers.
The buckets can be gotten for free from butchers or bakers for free...
You have to clean them but hey there free. Make sure you ask for the tops. I get mine from Walmart. They had frosting in them...
Hope this helps...

This is a post from Iron Mom
I just found a supply of FREE five gallon food-safe buckets with lids (even gasketed, really tight lids), for storing preps. Our local butcher also sells sandwiches, pickles, prepared meals, etc, and they go through a lot of 5-gallon buckets of olives and pickles. They leave the buckets out behind the store for anyone who wants to take them.
So, check with local delis, butchers, diners, etc., you might find a goldmine of these containers. They are expensive to buy new.
A tip for separating "stuck-together" buckets--run two coathangers down in between the buckets, one on each side. Run HOT water in between the buckets along one hanger (the other hanger is to make a channel for air to escape, allowing the water in). The water will fill up the gap between the buckets and eventually will "float up" or force out the inner bucket. Then you can clean and use them. You have to be patient with this technique because it takes 10-15 minutes for the water to get in there, but it sure beats trying to wrestle them apart |

Istore minute rice in those snack size zip-lock bags. 1 cup per bag(makes 2 servings), then in a large jar or one of those large popcorn cans. I also freeze the bags of rice before storing.
God bless. Jo
