I haven't contributed much lately, but I log on every other day to see what's goin on.

My question is:  How do you store wood without letting the neighbors seeing your stockpile and also storing it in a place to keep the termites from getting to it?

My husband doesn't want the wood stored close to the house because of possible termite infestiation.

We have 4 dead trees that we need to take care of.
They are big trees so we will need to hire someone to come and chop them down and then chop or mulch them up.  My husband wanted to just get rid of all of the wood and I pouted about it until I won!!!!!  We now have wood....but where to store it?????

I really want to hang on to this wood, but where.....and are termites really a necessary cause of alarm???

I've got mesquite wood stored for cooking/heat purposes. A friend of mine let me on to his ranch to get the wood. Cut it down to manageable chunks (about 12" long or so), then stored it in bags. Dropped some termite killer powder in the bags as a precaution. Did this last summer, and used some of that wood this winter for grilling. I plan to do that aain this summer and fall, or whenever my friend needs more mequite trees chopped down ;)

I've got my bags stored in a tool shed. I used heavy clear plastic bags purchased from a supply house down here. Don't use garbage/lawn bags...they will not hold up to the weight.
