Batteries wear down. Better to buy a few boxes of matches. For three
bucks you can get 3000 matches. |

my fire starting kits.... from walmarts or dollar store got two of the large popcorn tins (mouse proof) these are great to store all kinds of stuff, can't buy enough. one tin full of wood stick strike anywhere matches in the large boxes. these are getting hard to find, ( because the white tip can be used to make other stuff Ala mcgiver). in the other magnesium striker rods , lots of the bic lighter 5 packs, good old zippo lighter with all the essentials, and a couple of magnifying glasses. for fire tinder start saving your clothes dryer lint, also put away a bag of 0000 steel wool. I'm lucky to live in the woods with plenty of white birch trees. the paper bark lights and burns even when wet.
