Two Child Deaths Appear To Be Flu-Related
A warning from health officials to parents.

Two weekend deaths of children in Oakland County appear to be flu-related.  Health officials said that initial tests point to influenza-B in the death of a 6-year old Clarkston girl, while results are pending in the death of a 5-year old Highland Township boy.  There is no known connection between the two children.

The Michigan Department of Health said a 2-month-old Kalamazoo girl died earlier this year of a flu-related illness. 

Influenza symptoms include high fever, congestion and muscle aches and can last one week.
