I can't help but sense some friction over the subject here.  In all honesty, I have absolutely no idea whether or not it will protect us in the event of a pandemic, anymore than Tamiflu might. 

However, I've been making my own for the past few years and it is always my first line of defense when I get sick or have a sinus infection.  While it's hard to buy into all of the testimonials you come across from faceless strangers, I have honestly experienced benefits from it's use.  My neighbors depended on me for a supply for a couple of years now so I recently gave them a generator to make their own. 

In any case, it is definately part of my prepping and arsenal in the event either of us becomes ill.  I have also stocked Tamiflu, antibiotics and a variety of herbal formulas. 

From what research I've done on the subject, the people who turned gray or blue long ago were using an entirely different form of silver.  Although nobody wants to turn gray or blue, the damage was purely cosmetic and the more primitive silver formulas they used did do the job of treating infections. 

Not long ago I started taking it on a daily basis instead of only when ill because there is some evidence that it can help people clear hepatitis.  I have had hepatits C for well over 30 years and discovered first hand that the standard medical "treatment" for the condition is far worse than the disease.  

In conclusion, I don't know if Virusil's motivation is strictly to inform and help, but CS is really very safe when made correctly and even if it doesn't help, it's not likely to harm.

I grew up on an organic farm and my mother is a natural homeopath and a registered nurse.  She and others including myself believe that one natural anti-viral agent is Colloidal Silver.   Through out my childhood and to this day we as a family have taken it and we believe it has helped us be healthier than your average person.   I do not have the scientific methodology to back up my statements.  I posted this in the natural anti-viral section when i first joined this forum.  I know that this may seem strange but I stand by my own experience.  I highly recommend and believe it is up to the individual to do their own research.  There is little medical evidence using current scientific methodology.  But as the great philosopher John Ralston Saul argued common sense should supersede scientific rationalism.   Scientific rationalism to a large extent is pushed by our free market economy and the concentration of capital.  Therefore, my conspiracy/coincidence theory "spider sense" goes off when it comes to Colloidal Silver verses the pharmaceutical movement.  A common agent that can be made with a device that anyone can purchase as our friend "fafhrd" pointed out in the post above.  This whole piece I write is opinion with a great deal of practical experience on better living.  My 2 cents.
