Although comparisons are not always usefull comparing how Nigeria reacted to their first imported Ebola-case might be usefull to see how the US (or any other country) could react to a first case.

There should be no financial restrictions in dealing with possible Ebola-cases and possible infected persons should be encouraged to seek help to limit spread. Even when those cases are on tourist-visa or illegals. The first priority should be to identify possible cases and limit spread.

The first US-case was send home, making two more days spreading the virus possible in a neighbourhood that might not have easy access to healthcare. Proberbly the US-Ebola-outbreak could be worse then the one in Nigeria. On the other hand Nigeria shows that an outbreak can get under control.

In Europe the UK and Belgium are most at risk for a first Ebola-wild-import. Brussels Airlines is asked by the WHO to keep flying to West Africa for humanitary reasons.
