I belive they don't want ppl to get even more scared (hysterical) about this. On the other hand, at the late stage (when the virus concentration on fluids is high) the person cant travel (infect) much. But I don't know if in the late stage person can still coughing ? (I think he can but I`m not a specialist ). Also in my opinion this is how the 2 health care workers got sick in USA (where the standards are so high) and many many more in W.Africa.
And this is the reason why the CDC is working on a new guidance for health care workers, to protect them from this aerosols (the new gear will protect them against aerosols, but they wont clearly say "Hey its AIRBORNE") |

I do apologize for my poor english. Prepare for the Worst and Hope for the Best!

Hmmm.. I would question what if someone had the flu w/a cough and was in the beginning stages of ebola. One may not be highly infectious in the first stages of the disease because they don't have a high viral load; HOWEVER, if they have the flu AND are in the beginning stages of flu, how would that mix???
Of concern is Elver's last post which states, "(2) Much like Flu, Airborne Ebola transmissions need Winter type conditions to maximize Aerosol infection." |

That is exactly correct, please review this graphic. "Airborne" means suspended in the air as a dried "droplet nuclei," which is evaporated lacrimal secretion (tear), mucous (snot), saliva etc. expelled from a violent sneeze or cough (sneezes are worse for droplet nuclei formation). Now, lots of droplets will be generated by a patient like the unfortunate Eric Thomas Duncan, who suffered with projective vomit and diarrhea in the hospital before passing. This may be how the nurses were infected, they had inadequate PPE. Their gowns showed open skin, I doubt they had adequate/close-fitting eye protection etc. Forget respiratory, this bug don't work that way. It wants a quick entry into the bloodstream via a cut in the skin (even microscopic) or through the conjunctiva of the eye. |

------------------------------------------------------------------------ I agree with you on this grady. A question for you all?>>>>> just how long would secretions remain viable if some crazy were to try and transport it here? |
