Covid 19 WH Meetings "Classified"

Not a surprise to me. The projections must be grim. It's nauseating how deceptive the WH is being, trying to focus on the markets instead of life-saving health measures.

Trump's message to the nation tonight I bet will be: "It could be difficult, but we're strong, things will be ok.We're delivering a fiscal stimulus to every American. Free money for you! Oh, and buy stawks!"

Money will have little value if you are DEAD or you lose loved ones.

I really don't know what you would expect any leader to say. I think anyone with an ounce of brain matter is slowly figuring it out. Slow the panic just as you would slow the spread.  Keep everything functioning as long as possible. Luckily those exponential charts are not reality as the numbers from SK and China are showing.

Agreed. And to be sure this viral outbreak has national security implications so of course some things are going to be classified. And they surely don't want the public to panic or to promote panic, that is more dangerous than the virus. 

Fact of the matter is if people have been paying attention on this forum and the news then they know what is going to happen or at least should have a very good idea of the potential possibilities of this event and should be ready with or without all the information being spoon fed to them. As it stands now state and local governments are the second line of defense, implementing quarantines and travel restrictions. You are your own first line of defense, social distancing, preparedness, SIP.  The federal government is a distant third line of defense. Act accordingly and remember this too will pass, just batten down the hatches and buckle up in the mean time.

I have to agree with the consensus. From this action the only logical inference is it is going to be very bad. Hence, can't fault them.

I don't feel a sense of panic in my area, but I do feel that now some who were not taking it seriously are now.  Not all, mind you. The "just the flu" folks are still out there complaining about the rest of us.
But I actually see some folks getting their butts in gear in regard to canceling trips and buying supplies...I saw it on facebook in the mom's group today..the same ones who ridiculed a mom a few weeks ago for prepping...are now trying to find where in our town can they buy Clorox or Lysol wipes...which is nowhere at the moment and as soon as Amazon gets them, they are gone...I find it a bit ironic.

Why do you think Australia has a higher infection rate based on the population density? The death rate is also a tad higher. I don't think anyone cares, but who runs that deserted island, Crocodile Dundee? I know there's loyalty, but sticking your boomerang in your mouth isn't impressive...

The recent catastrophic wildfires in Australia was supported by 1,000s of USA firefighters, as well as hundreds  of pieces of equipment and technology.  All of this was approved by President Trump to assist and help the citizens of Australia.  Every politician does things we may not like or disagree with, but there is no reason to be rude and disrespectfull of another country's elected official.  You personally may not like the President of the United States but stop calling him names and maybe send him a thank you note for helping your country's in its time of need.

One of the problems of classifying the meetings is that many of the top doctors don't have the security clearance (they haven't needed in the past to give medical information).  

This means an automatic limit of the caliber of the information and discussions.   An automatic DUMBING DOWN of the results.
