And as one of the states whose Covid-19 cases are on the rise, Oklahoma, our state is having a Trump rally tomorrow. Are you kidding me???? I kept hoping this would change, but no, this is just beyond stupid. No large gatherings are recommended at this time, but we are going to have 19,000 seating arena filled for a Trump rally, with I'm sure tons of people outdoors too, as 1 million people applied for tickets to the rally. Unbelievable. |

Looking from afar, it seems as if this is all a plot to weaken the States .... get as many people sick as possible. In reality, it is probably because people are uncomfortable with who they are and so can not stand the isolation that is needed to contain this virus. Being alone is boring....in a big crowd it is exciting. On my own I feel Insignificant, but in a big crowd I feel like I am playing an important part in history, etc. From another time I heard a statement that I think applies: He was more afraid of loneliness than death. [The quote related to a young man who had unprotected sex with a prostitute in Thailand at the height of the HIV scare] |

I have been on furlough from work since March 18th, I go back to work on Monday. Most people at our agency will not return until October 1st. We were told last week. Yet our state is having Trump rallies???? Amazing. I'm curious to see how much of an increase in cases we have in a 2-3 week period from now. If we get a big jump from this. I've been happy staying at home. |

Looking at some videos from Tulsa, the Trump crowd, who are pretty recognizable in their MAGA hats, t-shirts and red clothes...are not exactly the picture of health...many obese folks, many middle age folks and older than that in the crowd. |

It's being reported the 40,000 overflow never happened. And cameras are showing the upper level seats at the arena are all but empty. Still.. that's at least 10,000 with fewer than 10% wearing masks. |

Crazy people. They showed one woman on the OKC news station that was at the rally and was not going to wear a mask and said "the virus was a hoax". They did take everyone's temp prior to entering, gave everyone a mask but told them they were optional, and had hand sanitizer available. SIX of Trump's rally organizers tested positive for Covid-19 and were placed on quarantine just prior to the rally. |

At least the Tulsa police were wearing masks. From the BBC report on the meeting:https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53121488
This is a change from when he was boasting about how great America was because they had the most records cased of Covid19. |

The rally was a complete flop. Apparently people now think that a vote for Trump is a vote for racism, and Trump has no problem with that. Let's face it.... Trump is a racist, and he is now losing a ton of support. Not a chance of Trump getting reelected now, in my opinion. |

I hear: "His wife is Eastern European. How can he be racist?" To which I reply: "Yeah! But she is white." Racist! I agree! |

It was a very impressive stunt that the young people were able to pull off. They are a force to be reckoned with, and I wouldn't underestimate them. I'm proud of their ingenuity and ability to coordinate this way, and it makes me more hopeful for the future. They might have saved countless lives as well. |

The lead item on our last night's news was the part of his speech where Trump is suggesting that America should reduce testing for the Sars-cov2 infection because the numbers don't look good. This sort of thing I find worrying "It's more important that my numbers look good than doing what it right to slow down this pandemic." The ticket thing is interesting. The Trump team is claiming that they have systems in place to weed out false applications, but then they also reported over 1 million were coming (instead of the 6 000+ that showed up). Are many of the young people that took part under that age of voting? |

BTW, I notice that many of the people were wearing Make America Great Again caps.... so they are saying that in this first term Trump has been unable to make America great. |

I've been reading that they can't effectively weed out false applications. I wonder how soon it will be that Trump will take a page from Biden's book and start doing online Town Halls. |

At first, the line from Parscale was generally, "jokes on them, we have their info now." But, kids stated they created Google phone numbers and new email accounts, then deleted. Those that used actual numbers and emails said they were bombarded with texts and emails, dozens a day. If they were able to weed out the false info, why were they still claiming over a million tickets were "sold"? No one was turned away. I believe it was fear of the virus that kept his voters away, and I don't think they will appreciate his message. A lot of vulnerable people take at least some comfort in the idea of masks and safety measures, and I know some of his voters who were offended by his mocking of wearing masks. The campaign was too blinded by vanity and wishful thinking to investigate who was reserving tickets. This was a message from young people. We should all be paying attention. |

Trump rally 'more than likely' contributed to virus spread
The rally by US President Donald Trump in Tulsa last month "more than likely" added to the surge in virus cases there, local authorities said. Tulsa County this week recorded a record of daily new cases, with 266 on Wednesday. "The past two days we've had almost 500 cases, and we know we had several large events a little over two weeks ago, which is about right," Tulsa health department director Bruce Dart said. "So I guess we just connect the dots." Neither Trump, nor many in the crowd, wore masks at the event - and several of the president's staff tested positive after the rally. In response, a Trump campaign spokesman compared coverage of the rally to that of the recent Black Lives Matter protests. "There were literally no health precautions to speak of as thousands looted, rioted, and protested in the streets," he said. "It’s obvious that the media’s concern about large gatherings begins and ends with Trump rallies." This news of increased cases is no surprise, neither is the Trump campaign trying to deflect the blame to the BLM movement. |

Don't you know his political survival is more important than the actual survival of the people? |

All of the protests I have seen, most of the people were wearing masks, unlike at Trump rallies. |
