End the pandemic in 2 weeks

I will repeat the same advice I gave to current administration. They didn't take it. Maybe the next one will:

1.  Stop all international passenger travel. Not 80% of it. Not 95% of it. Not 99.9% of it. Stop 100% of it. Any critical international travel can be handled by the military, e. g., fact finding teams sent to China.

2.  Institute a nation-wide hard lock down for 2 weeks.

3.  Create sufficient testing capacity to test everyone in this country. As I've said before, this is actually quite easy and cheap. One small lab could test 1,000 samples a day. Heck, some High School's could test 1,000 samples a day. If we use all of our national capacity, we could easily test everyone. I still have not heard a good explanation for why this has not happened.

4.  Call up Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand and ask her how she did it. That woman is amazing.

Spot on!

The two week lockdown gives time to organise the testing facilities and to set up a functional 'test and trace' system.  If it were up to me, I would make it a 3 week lockdown, to allow for symptoms to manifest as well.

I would like longer, but I can't see people accepting it after the lies the last administration dissemenated about the virus.

So it would have to be crammed into the 2 weeks.  It can be done, especially by a country so good at widespread manufacturing as the US.

I also believe we should have a national lockdown for 2-3 weeks.  However, in Colorado, where we have had success so far, we no longer have success because of Covid fatigue.  People are tired of it and just starting to regress more and more into bad habits.  Scary but true.  Hope we can figure this all out soon!

It took 12 weeks strict lock down in Melbourne to get covid under control........

That is what it takes.......

Best get some preps in.

Here in NZ we did it in 5 weeks. One week to allow for symptoms to develop and then two infection cycles of 14 days each, so 5 weeks in total. No interstate travel, no international or domestic flights, everyone to stay at home. No shops open except pharmacies and supermarkets. The big difference was we did this at the beginning when it was all new and scary and we all did it. Now the whole world is suffering from Covid fatigue and I just don't think people would accept such a strict lockdown.

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

It's quite simple ,

Lock down.....mask up
