The id was because I should have one,  and a drivers license was not considered strong enough proof for some legal matters, as they wanted a card that the Police had checked the photo of.  (My driving license is valid until I am 70 so it has an old photo.)



ps. I do have a paper copy of my Covid-pass.

We have to renew out DL every 1or 5 years here , which I find a odd when my UK licence lasts me till I'm 70 I think ,

mind lost that years ago in on the beach here ,

I use my Aussie one when I hire a car in UK,which I found out only recently that insurance companies won't recognise it if you have a crash,I need to get an international DL to be covered......

I wish I was "barcoded" at birth ,save lote of paperwork....lol
