I feel confused! Everything I am reading from scientists seems dismal but then I see other media posts portraying O in a good light. So hard to really know what to believe. Does the reaction alone to the new variant warrant the same response or is it cautionary. What to believe?!?! |

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/dec/01/nervtag-called-for-early-robust-action-omicron-covid-variant or https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/dec/01/nervtag-called-for-early-robust-action-omicron-covid-variant ; Experts advising the government called last week for “early and robust actions” to limit the transmission of the Omicron Covid variant, minutes reveal. Members of the New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (Nervtag) held an extraordinary meeting last Thursday and agreed they could not rule out the new variant causing a larger wave of infections that could potentially overwhelm the NHS. DJ This should be alarming enough ! The scientists noted that firm data was not yet available but early analysis of the variant provided “sufficiently worrying signals” for them to recommend “early and robust actions to prevent introduction and onward transmission”. DJ; EARLY AND ROBUST ACTION only can mean lockdown !!! But the government has resisted further changes, such as advising the public to work from home, and Boris Johnson on Tuesday rejected the advice of Jenny Harries, the chief executive of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), who said the public should cut down on unnecessary socialising. The prime minister said at a Downing Street press conference: “We don’t want people to cancel such events.” DJ Again BoJo&Co NOT following science WARNING/ALARM !!!!! Omicron is BAD NEWS !!!! |

Hmmm....I think you are being optimistic. I think in around 10 days from now, we are going to see enough to shut us down again I hate it, but thinking it will be true. We shall see. We have lots of events coming up for my family that i really don't want to miss! |

I saw a supermarket worker wearing a clear mask yesterday, and at the same time I saw a lady wearing what looked like a homemade mask that was clear. It was more of a face shield but instead of starting at the forehead, it started above her nose like a regular mask, and went as far as the bottom of her chin. She had a thin line of padding that ran from the bottom left up and over the nose and down the other cheek to the bottom right but the bottom edge of the mask was not padded and stood about 1cm clear of her chin. This was presumably to enable her to breathe more easily. The only possible protection this mask offered was to stop saliva particles being broadcast outwards. A number of shop workers here are wearing clear full face shields. |

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesnβt accord with the facts.
