Now thats what I call preppin - Go the Govinator

Democrats, meanwhile, aimed to increase funding for health care spending and park maintenance, and said money should be set aside to deal with unexpected costs -- such as potential raises for state employees whose contracts expire this year. The party also proposed stripping down Schwarzenegger's plan to spend $400 million preparing for a possible bird flu pandemic.

I keep misreading this as "ANNIE wants to spend $400 million for the pandemic," and all I can think of is

"Dang, woman!  That's a lot of trips to Costco!"

I call them weekly.  And after reading this article I am even more disgusted... he puts the money into schools and the never ceasing adds by the unions continue to slam him and lie that he is taking money from the children.  The spending in the schools is need... we have no phisical education or music programs and now the cuts in spending on H5N1 preperation which is to low to begin with.

It's disgusting, isn't it?  I heard Tom McClintock interviewed the morning and he said that under Pat Brown, the cost per capita to deliver services was $1,000 per person.  This is when they were building power plants, dams, roads, had the best university system in the country and the best school system.  Now they spend $3,000 per capita and look what we have.  A big freaking mess.  The unions rule here.

$400 million for the whole state is not a lot but the Democrats want to spend it on something else - what I wonder?

Oh come on, all you Californians, surely you must know that all those state employees really need another raise--why, what's it been-- a couple of months since they have had one?
