I am not sure if we have discussed this before, but how long are you prepping for..and how long are you planning to stay indoors for...

6-8 months

1 year

2 years

3 years

I have always been on the thought of possibly 3 years, because of the waves in a pandemic..and as I cannot recall and I cannot find any of the original articles on the 1918 pandemic on google anymore because it is all about avain flu now) when you type in 1918 pandemic....

So I thought what better place to come and ask...but my buddies...so please so I can gauge all the things I will need..I will prep for the long haul, but would still like some input into this...

muskrat -- I'm prepping for a year. Can't afford much more. I'm figuring that we'll have to stay inside for about 3 months -- long enough for the 1st wave to pass, grow a garden, and hunker down again for the second wave. -- Libby

a year is good. two better. with the economic fall out we may all be stuck at home anyway with no jobs, some with no houses after forclosures.

two years is ideal cause it allows for screw ups, bad garden crops etc. and worst to come extra stock would put you in a barter position to recoperate thru really bad times

two years of normal preps for (food only) could be wiped out in 6 months if relatives move in or kids lose jobs etc. food can go fast. Prep enough if you can figuring others will be depending on you.

good barter preps are the vices.. people will do anything for whiskey, cigarettes, coffee, sugar, and so on......You'll need the influence.
