29/1/2008 Fever hospitals in the provinces yesterday and the day before isolated 16 new cases suspected of bird flu, including six cases in Sohag, four in Dakahlia, three in Damietta, two in Gharbia and one case in Ismailia. Sohag fever hospital isolated Ra'fat Mohamed Hassan, a 52-year-old farmer, his wife Iman Mustafa Hassan (37) and his children Rahma (20) and Mohamed (14) from the village of 'Kayman' in 'Shandawil'. The hospital also isolated Abdel Rahman Mohamed el-Sayed (7) from the village of Mubarak and Nadira Abdel Gawad Mayhoub (40) from east 'Sawamaa'. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Al, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, said samples were sent to the ministry's central labs, pointing out that many homes and birds were immunized. Dakahlia Governor Ahmed Saeed Sawan received a report from the chest hospital of Mansoura that it has isolated Sabah Ibrahim al-Husseini (24) from Sharkia, who showed symptoms of the disease while she was visiting her relatives in Mansoura. The hospital also isolated Ihsan Sami el-Shayeb (30) from the village of 'Salmon al-Kamash', Sameh Tawakol (31) from Talkha and Serag Mohamed Sallam (40) from the village of 'Tawila'. Their samples were also sent to the labs. The fever hospital of Tanta isolated Amr Abdel Wareth (5 months) from the village of 'Kom Akhdar' in Menoufia, and Mahala fever hospital isolated Fatma Abou Zeid (51) from the village of 'Dimro'. Dr. Sherif Hammouda, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health said their samples were sent to the labs. The fever hospital of Ismailia isolated Ahmed Gharib Ahmed (42) from the village of 'Dabeya', and his sample was sent for analysis. In Damietta, Dr. Salah Aboul Ata, Director of the Department of Preventive Medicine, said that the fever hospital isolated Aziza el-Sayed Farahat (40), a housewife from the village of Abbasyia, Iman Ra'fat Sharshira (20) from the village of Kafr al-Batikh, and Nabila Amin Siddik (29) from Damietta. |
