Facebook has a Coronavirus Survivor Corps group, where long-haulers tell their stories. Recommended reading for those who think Covid is no big deal. |

Thanks to a couple of dozen idiotic leaders of countries (mine among them) and a few countries too poor to help themselves (which us rich countries just leave to stew) I think this disease is going to become globally endemic. I think it will shorten predicted lifespans as a result. It does not have to happen even now, but hopes and chances of arresting it are vanishingly rare here in the west. |

Technophobe, interesting you should say that. I also think that we have likely tipped beyond the point of being able to beat back this virus — I think it’s going to become endemic, as well. However, I wonder if we could be in store for more significant mutations than we see with, for example, seasonal flu. While the flu virus has been around in its current form for a while, SARS-2-COV is still what I think of as a “baby” virus...and inherently more unstable and more likely to undergo more frequent and more significant mutations. This could lead to a greater impact on people who catch it. However, I am absolutely NOT a doctor or virologist, and don’t even play one on TV! I could be completely off. It’s enough to keep me on my toes, though, and to keep me thinking what I should be doing for my family. I always appreciate your posts! Do you have a background in the medical field? |

No, just an interest. (To the extent doctors keep asking me the same question, or where I studied.) I do have some small epidemiological qualifications, but nothing major. Enough to say I understand what the real experts are saying - or occasionally deliberately avoiding saying. You are right, although it is not particularily likely and frankly, I don't want to think about it. Coronaviruses do mutate often, but I believe flu is even faster and more frequent at changing its 'coat'. What it really comes down to (and you are right again) is this is a new virus. We don't know what it will do next - or after that - or after that - or........ |

Oh Feck.....we in deep s..t Stay safe all 😷😉 |
