The article caught my eye...I have been "into leather work" for years and my mother before me (she is 94  yr.young)  She has done hard sole, soft sole for ages...it's fun, therapeutic to bang the silver hammer down upon the .....there are classes around, like park, leather work stores, community centers.  It also is a great gift from your child.  Check into it.  Crafts will be an excellent project thru cabin fever.

I would love to learn how to resole my boots it seems a shame to throw the things away as the uppers are still in good condition,i will have to inquire at the local craft shop,i don't think the children's shoes are salvageable tho after a week at school they look like they have been chewed by a Tyrannosaurus Rex Smile

I kind of have the gut feeling that while making your own shoes could prove useful, it may not be necessary.  If you are quarantined, you won't be going outside and thus less wear on your shoes.  Many people don't even wear shoes when in doors.  So, i guess it all comes down to how much wear do you put into the shoes you buy.
The only way to grow is to take a chance.

I've got kids that I can barely keep in shoes, I never know how far ahead to purchase them and always seem to mess it up anyway, so this is great info.  Thanks!!!

This is excellent - cheap yet available ... heck I'll even wear them over my moccs to keep them from wearing out!!  this is a good download for EVERYBODY to put into their "prep binders!"
