Will UV light kill flu virus? If it does, couldn't masks be put in a UV sterilizer and re-used.

Great question ! This inquiring mind wants to know also. And if masks, then other stuff too ??
And what about microwaving stuff ... does a microwave kill virus ??? As cheap as microwaves are these days, could easily buy an extra one dedicated to the "decontamination room."
Someone please give us some answers ... Thanks !

The answer is - nobody knows yet. The WHO is studying the issue right now.

Thanks, Femvet.
Do you know of a site or a link that I could go read up on what's been found out so far, and what stage of study they're in ???
BTW... Just how long would it take to toss a mask or any old rag with H5N1 on it into a microwave ... nuke it for varying lengths of times until it comes out BF-free???? PRESTO !!! There's your answer !! (Or if it's still poison after an unreasonably long time of nuking ... well, then we can check THAT off our list.)
Ohhhh... excuse me !!! You DID say it was the WHO, didn't you. Never mind. They're probably waiting on ashipment of "special" gov-issue microwaves costing $ thousands $ .... instead of just using the one sitting in their coffee-break lounge.
