So what's everyone working on this month? Our garden is planted. We had the first lettuce and spinach from it the other day. We're stocking up on more canned goods as the future is looking bleak, with the rise in cost of items and diesel to deliver items. |

We're putting in more vege beds. We're in the process of putting one section of the garden into self wicking raised beds. It's a lengthy procedure. I've done 12 so far and have 9 more to do. So far I'm really pleased with the results. This autumn we've had such an attack of Cabbage White butterflies. I had some brassica seedlings waiting to be planted out and they were decimated by the caterpillars. I meant to throw them on the compost but didn't get round to it and yesterday I noticed that a new flush of leaves are growing on the little stems, so I'm going to plant them out this weekend and see what they do. Have just planted garlic and broad beans. |

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.
