But for most people, the risk of getting monkeypox remains low. Almost all cases in the current outbreak — 98% — have been in adult men who have sex with men.

	Three states have declared an emergency as a result of Monkey Pox. California, Illinois and New York.

	In Spain that percentage went down to 85% of cases in gay men....There is NO gay-virus ! For that matter-HIV/AIDS did also start in the gay community (most likely)...it did NOT stay there ! Monkeypox looks like more surface and aerosol-spread then HIV...so very likely will see much wider spread in many groups. It is WRONG !!! to stigmatize a disease as "only gay"...may delay cases getting reported in non-gay people ! It is not only a STD !

	Seems with that extremely high of a percentage of cases among that specific demographic seems like pride month was a super spreader event nationwide( no pun intended ). Must be a hell of a coincidence that high of percentage of cases in a very specific demographic for surface infection spread to be a main contributor to the number of cases, making that mode of transmission rather unlikely given the lack of cases outside the gay/bisexual male demographic. But yeah anyone outside the gay/bisexual male demographic can get monkey pox, the question is why are they NOT getting monkey pox if surface contamination is in fact a major way for the virus to spread. 6600 cases in the US now and the US is declaring it a public health emergency. I read an article they are now talking about the distinct possibility of monkey pox becoming endemic in the US.
