That is a truly dire situation. I don't think it can get any worse. At the end of the article it says that so many nurses are getting sick that they are in danger of not having enough trained nurses to operate the ventilators.

Honestly the health department in the US is shooting itself in the foot. You have to protect the medical staff, because without them, you don't have a medical system. I wonder how many nurses and doctors will just decide not to go to work? They will have to think about the welfare of their own families. And they can't be forced to work.

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

Our evening TV news showed pictures of nurses protesting. "Protect us, so that we can protect you."

Dang we all knew and in years past discussed if a Pandemic hit will the medical staffs walk off and go home. We all knew that could happen and it may happen. That is why, I use gloves to get my boxes, then spray with Lysol and wait a couple of days then wipe down with gloves on Lysol wipes what is in the box. I use gloves to get my mail...then leave it out for 3 days before I touch it. I know many nurses, docs and staff at hospitals will get sick, maybe die, or just walk off the job to save their families. Like I said we have discussed this years ago. Why I SIP totally in my house and do not go out.

Yes Flumom, we have discussed that many times. What I don't understand is the federal government has sent ventilators, masks and tyvek suits to the New York hospitals and police departments. I know the ventilators sat in a warehouse up there and the mayor didn't know they were there. So where is the other stuff they're sending?

Who the hell knows...Cuomo is not forth coming about where all this stuff is. It is like he is hoarding it! He has his little kingdom of PPE and not letting it go until HE says so. But no one know what he has done with all of it. Trump is almost out of Aces. He only had 10K of vents in the SNS and I bet they are down to 2-4 k left. So lots of people are going to die and this is just getting rolling in the U.S. and other parts of the world.

Just read about India they have about 21K vents...lol not enough for their population. They are having the same problems the U.S. is having in making vents...no parts from China, France, or Germany. So India is screwed like the U.S.

The whole world is going to have a huge death rate, just have a very bad feeling about all of this. I think we could lose 1 million not just 100,000 by the end of the summer if some of the therapies they are working on do not work!!!
