Hi Everyone,

I'm new here. I'm a reporter and I'm trying to learn
more about what folks are doing to prepare for
H5N1. I think you are all right, the majority of the
media isn't representing avian flu with the accuracy
necessary to get people to prepare themselves.

I want to talk to people who are really taking this into
their own hands. What are you doing? Do you have
a bunker? How many weeks of food have you
stockpiled? How many Tamiflu doses do you have?
Have you taken any measures for your pets?

If anyone has time to get back to me personally, that
would be great. My deadline is Monday at noon (ET)
so if you have some time, please do tell me about
what you're doing to prepare and why you feel
preparedness is so important.

Well Ashley, you are asking for some awful personal information there.

Not that the information isn't on the site... we are reasonably free with our discussions and sharing here. 

BTW: I wouldn't recommend ANYONE telling ANYONE how much, if any, Tamiflu they have on hand.

But, that's just me, perhaps there are others here that feel differently.

I do want you to know though that I'm sure we would LOVE to share with you our world view.  Getting information out is of paramount concern to us. 

Would you be looking to write something informational or something to make us look like a bunch of nuts?  Not that we don't have our nuttie moments, but I think you know what I mean.

Hi little chicken, yes we have food for a month, manly canned goods.  Canned Tomatoes, canned soups, packaged sauces, pastas, rice,flour, sugar, treats like cookies, cake mixes.  I don't think we'll lose our power.or water. If so the river is a block away.   I'm not too worried about heating for cooking. We have a gas fireplace, for heat.  Also have a Barbecue, for cooking as well, lots of propane.

As for the pets I have a two month supply of pet foods, for the cats, and dog and all the dogs medicines ( She's older). For our Parrot we have six month supply of her pellets (they come from US)  and we are working on her treats,  I saved m&m boxes and had my daughter do the same, we'll put bulk raisins in them and tape shut. she loves the little child boxes of raisins.. I have all the medicines for colds, headaches and diarrhea.

You didn't identify the media outlet or name of the organization you will be submitting your piece to.  Fair's fair.  You want us to bare all, how 'bout being a little more forth coming about who you represent.

Yes that is what I would like to know also..can you post a URL to your paper...I may be a zen prepper and love my freinds in here dearly..buddies in stockin, but I don,t need the feds a knockin..taking what I have had to store and the take and and take and tell me I,m not allowed to hoard
