Sorry Kay, I've only just seen your post. You are absolutely right about the wealthy buying places in NZ. We all know they're here. We have lots of Americans and plenty of Russian Oligarchs. There was a Russian mentioned in the newspaper yesterday who has bought a huge estate in the North Island. There are all sorts of celebrities who have places here. We are ideally placed for a world wide catastrophe. Put simply we are just more remote than any other western country on earth. Obviously you could head out to Samoa or Vanuatu but then you risk being swamped by the ocean. We are inaccessible and you really have to want to be here to go to the effort of getting here. ------------- Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts. |
