The link is a pdf power point presentation from the university of Hong Kong yesterday giving a "nowcast and forecast" of events on the ground.
It looked very impressive, but it's beyond me what it all means in real terms.....can someone please decipher it?

Just watching CNN,
Dr on there says this has been around since October,
maybe before,
just misdiagnosed as pneumonia/flu....

WOW, 40K that makes sense because there are 44K beds in Wuhan and I bet most of them are filled. What seems to be bad is yesterday I think the "patient 0" on December 31 was released from the hospital...26 days in the hospital.
This is crazy what hospital or country could keep ill people for 20 - 26 days hospitalized.

Great source. The measures were too late is what it is saying. Human to Human is verified. WHO will be doing their emergency meeting again by next week when they as usual will go to level 1 too late. Good news from CDC. 16 labs around the globe are working on making a vaccine. Unfortunately it is 3?months at best but then235 certified labs can race to make enough for most populations at highest risk. That is another 3 months before most at rest people can get it. If you are healthy with no underlining immune compromise its going to be rough but you will be ok. It is the old over 65 and under 5 where they will concentrate their vaccine efforts. This comes from our local Medical Reserve Corp amd the 2019 October pandemic flu exercise they did

One thing I had heard was that there has never been a successful vaccine created for a Coronavirus before. Does anyone know if that is true?

We have never managed one for the common cold, that is a coronavirus. I don't know about the others.
